“Fight For Your Right,” Chapter 3 – (MAR Fan Fic Challenge)

Alice grabbed her stomach. “Okay I swear to god I’m going to be sick if you tell me we actually have to sleep here.” Tina and Angelica rolled their eyes at Alice. “Hello, Ivan, it’s so nice to see you again,” said Tina. “And who is this, said Ivan, reaching out and shaking Angelica’s hand. “This is our daughter, Angelica, Ivan, it’s…nice…to see you again.” Ivan tipped his hat to Bette and walking passed her, took Kit’s bag from her shoulder. “Now, allow me to show you lovely ladies to your room.”

Alice picked up her back pack. “Okay, did he just say room…like in one room? Like in we have to share, A, room?”

Ivan bowed as he held the door for Kit. “Now I know It might not look like much from the outside, Alice, but the room is big enough for all of you and then some,” said Ivan. “Yeah, if we were staying at a half way house…Okay, Shane, I didn’t sign on for this. I thought we’d all find a nice B&B…”

“Trust me, Alice” said Ivan, “you’ll be quite comfortable. Ladies, shall we?” “Just go with it, Alice,” said Shane.

And with that, Ivan disappeared into the dilapidated YMCA at 145 Franklin Street. The girls just shrugged at each other as Kit floated in on Ivan’s coattails, following him to the 4th floor walk up that would house the wayward bunch for at least the next 48 hours.

Bette was holding Angelica while Tina prepared their bed. “Good thing we packed blankets,” said Tina, “this place doesn’t look the cleanest.” Bette was pacing. “You know, Tina, I’m starting to think Alice is right, I mean, we can always go find a B&B.” Alice raised her hand, “I’m in! I’m all for it, ya know, if you guys think it’s best for the baby and all.” Tina turned and sitting on the bed, said, “Guys we’re here for Kit, remember. I certainly don’t think she’d appreciate us leaving her here all alone. I mean she’s out there in the hallway running laps with Jenny and Shane to prepare for the fight.” Looking at Bette, Tina said, “It’s only for one night, two, tops. We’ll push these beds together, it will be fine.” But Bette didn’t seem convinced.

“Did you see the guy downstairs, the one without the teeth? Not ONE tooth in his head, Tina!”

Alice raised her hand. “I saw him!”

Tina got up and grabbing Bette’s shoulders, said, “Calm down. You can do this, WE ALL can do this,” she said, also peering at Alice. “Now Kit needs us and we have to be here for her. Not there for her!”

Tina turned and continued what she had been doing. Alice said, “Yeah, but, Tina, it’s not like we’d leave her behind, ya know, we’d take her with us…” “You’re right, Tina,” said Bette, forcing a smile. “Of course I am,” said Tina, “It will be fine, you’ll see. You’ll BOTH see.”

Alice, defeated, threw herself onto one of the beds and as the dust cloud engulfed her body, she simply coughed and said, “Ick.”
