“No, not for a second. I’m looking forward to live in the big apple with you and this little guy here. And I’m also looking forward to get back to really solve the cases. Getting back to the basics with evidence.” Bette says. “I’m just hoping we can leave soon.” She adds.

“We’re not moving until you’re okay to fly and move properly without hurting.” Tina says.

“We won’t.” Bette says as she picks up the stuffed animal and gives it back to Evan. It got a few inches away from him.

“You are my angel Bette, you really are and I thought I had lost you. It might be selfish of me to want you out of harm’s way like that job you have now are. When Brian knocked on my door that night, I saw my whole life crumbling. I’ve never been so scared in my entire life. Being beaten by Eric was nothing compared to what I felt about the possibility of losing you.” Tina says as tears stream down her face. “I’m sorry to unload all this now.” She adds.

“Don’t be sorry, don’t ever hold anything in… And you’re not selfish, I would’ve thought and felt the exact same thing if the roles were reversed. And I promise you that I will do my best to not be in the line of fire again. My main task will be as a lab technician and when I’m in the field the crime has already been committed, so it’s a lot safer.” Bette says.

“I’m so happy about that. You’re no good to me if you aren’t here. I love you. Sorry it took me a while before I realized it.” Tina says as she chuckled a little.

“I love you too, and as I said back then, I would’ve waited forever for you, because I knew you would come around. I saw that slight glimmer in your eyes when I came around and also your face lit up as mine did.” Bette says with a loving smile looking sideways at Tina and leans in for a kiss.

“We’ve really found each other. I…. I want to…” Tina sits up straight as she turns towards Bette. “I want to spend my life with you Bette, I want to love you forever, I want to wake up with you every morning, I want to have children with you, I want to do it all with you, Bette will you do the honor of becoming my wife, do you want to marry me?” Tina says, tears streaming down her face again as they were on Bette’s face.

“I… I would be honored, yes, yes… I love you.” Bette says, tears forming.

“Really?” Tina asks, just to make sure.

“Really.” Bette replies.

“I love you.” Tina says. “I don’t have any rings though, I hadn’t planned it like this.” Tina says and chuckles sweetly.

“We’ll go ringshopping in New York.” Bette says as she pulls Tina into a big hug. “I love you.” She whispers.

Evan made some noises, he wanted to be the center of attention again. Bette smiles as they pull out, parting with a kiss. “I love you too.” Bette says and kisses the top of Evan’s little head.

1 month later.

Bette was recovering nicely and they had just moved to New York and were settling into their new apartment. Bette had also been into her new workplace but since she was still on sickleave, she wasn’t working yet, but that wasn’t long before now. She was due to start next week.

Tina was also starting work next week and Evan was starting day care at Tina’s work. Everything was set. They were now enjoying their last days together before their lives gets busy again.
