When Bette told Tina what Candace had done in Darfur, the admiration for the photographer grew.  Tina appeared to be in thought when Bette said, “You know, we spoke about you today.”

Tina looked up surprised.  “Who?  You and Candace?”

“Yes, as a matter of fact we did.  She told me that she ran into a blonde hottie in the lobby named Tina and I told her that I sleep with a blonde hottie named Tina” Bette grinned and sipped her wine. 

“Is that right?”

“Yes, that’s right.  She said she asked you about finding a restaurant?” Bette asked.

“Yeah, I told her where she could get good Thai.”  Then she added, “She’s very attractive, don’t you think Bette?”

Bette nodded, “Yes, she is.”

“Is she…?” Tina let the question hang.

“Is she a lesbian, you mean?  Yes, she and her partner Michaela have been together for a number of years now.   Oh yeah, before I forget.  Since Michaela will be in town with her for a few days, I suggested they join us for dinner sometime.  You don’t mind do you?”

“No, of course not.  It was nice of you” Tina stood and turned to go in the house, “I feel like a bath.  You?” 

“You know,” Bette stood quickly, “now that you mentioned it…”

Friday Night at the Planet

Bette, Tina, Candace and Michaela struggled to compose themselves after a fit of laughter brought on by Michaela’s recounting a tale involving a supermodel and stilettos improperly repaired with superglue. 

Tina, who was dabbing at her eyes with her napkin asked, “But Michaela, wasn’t she hurt?” 

Michaela looked around the table, “We never found out.  When she got off that photographer, she ran stumbling backstage.  She booked out of the hotel before the end of the show and I haven’t heard about her since.” 

Smiling, Candace said, “You know, we wouldn’t be laughing if she hadn’t been so arrogant and narcissistic.”

“But really, she brought that on herself; am I right Michaela?” Bette said. 

“Sure did!”  Man!  You should have seen the swan dive she did off that runway!!!”
