Driving back Bette’s mind was overwhelmed with everything that was going on in her small world. Navigating the turns and keeping in mind that Tina was also in the car and she should probably drive safely was proving to be task that was challenging to say the least. Tina looked over and saw the furrowed brow that was plastered on Bette’s face. She knew she was still reeling in the facts of today’s encounter, and she was still thinking about what to do about Alicia. Tina looked up and noticed that they had passed the house and it looked like she had no plans of stopping any time soon. That was until the car came to a sudden halt and Tina looked up and saw that they were in front of Bette’s grandmother’s house.

“I’ll be right back.” Bette said as she locked eyes with Tina and leaned in to kiss her. Simply to reassure her that everything was alright and she needed her trust to be able to pull this off. Bette got out of the car in a flash and headed inside. Tina sat back and closed her eyes, she was letting today’s events play through out her mind. It couldn’t have been no more than 30 minutes tops before three pick ups pulled up and big burly men carrying shotguns jumped out and were headed inside. Tina sat there awhile stunned by the whole thing and then she saw Bette directing them and she seemed as though she was breaking down a plan.

They all got back into the pick ups and drove off. Bette came back to the car and opened Tina’s car door and saw that Tina was a little shaken by the sudden clatter around her. Bette kneeled down to Tina’s side and explained. “Those were a couple of my cousins.” Tina just nodded her head and let Bette continue, “They’re going to go get Alicia.”

Tina nodded again as another image caught her eye, she was looking through the window and saw Toni dismantling and cleaning a shotgun as well. Bette turned and saw what caught her eyes, “Don’t worry Toni knows what she’s doing.”

“It’s not Toni I’m worried about.” Tina said looking with worried eyes on Bette.
