Eternally yours: when one lifetime is not enough # 5
The missing installed itself and from those days on, decided never to leave.
——————————-
Bette was afraid. She wasn’t prepared to see Tina and expose herself to all the consequences. And the consequences would be tragic.
If Tina despised Bette, she would have to ignore all the feelings she carried with those dreams and nominate them a curse.
The mocha possibly would have to deny her senses and that would be tragic for her.
These days, anyway, the gallery owner had to admit, she felt failing, overloaded by a sense of imminent disaster. A weakness overcome her. “Let it be… Forget about it. It’s safer this way…She’s happy…She’s practically married.”
These words made her cold. As cold as the Vostok. What saved her was her spirit. Bette had a soul painted in red. And it was the heat in her blood that made her ignore the internal shout outs and refresh the memory of certain dreams.
At night, Bette knew, her body would be taken to other times and places and, at those lands, they were glorious and resplendent in their love. No matter the body, the age, the sex. These senses were stronger than any word could explain. Besides, it was also at night that happens the sultriness of the lover’s dance inside her wet dreams. How Bette could listen to weakness?
However, she was afraid.
However, Destiny and Fate had told them before: I am the queen and king of Causality and Coincidence and nothing can escape from my arms.
—————
It was during a concert. The afternoon went by slowly. The night s manifested its possibilities with a clear sky where the stars would shine bright at the Griffith Park and a Symphony in the Glen.
The mocha’s friends couldn’t go and Bette sat alone at her blanket watching the end of the day, listening to Beethoven, Mozart and Schubert and because she had no prejudice: Franz Waxman and his “Bride of Frankenstein” and Leonard Bernstein’s “Profanations” made her soul also smile.
At the end of the concert, what nobody expected happened. The raindrops began to fell down without hurry. People began to collect their belongings and suddenly everything was in a hurry again.
The mocha woman stood up and, with time, got her blanket from the grass and pushed it inside her back-pack. When she was ready to leave, the raindrops got violent and weighted.
Nevertheless, it was not the chilly from the raindrops that alarmed her senses. No. Something else. She felt it coming closer. First, her blood freeze inside her veins; the wave of sickness possessed her body and she thought she would faint. But the feeling was replaced powerfully by the pure sense of belonging. That energy. That warm energy.
Bette turned her face the moment a blonde grazed her back with her body. The mocha’s body responded firmly, instantaneously.
Finally, Bette could sense her skin again. They, Christina and this figure were running from the raindrops, but with a childish laugh of pleasure filling their voices.
The brunette extended her right hand to touch Tina’s and the blonde held Bette’s fingers for seconds. The shook made her look behind just to find Bette’s smile of countless, an unlimited contentment. Their eyes met and their smile interlaced their mouths.
However, Tina didn’t stop running. She had been lead by the man who didn’t note the enchantment happening behind his back.
And with a last push their fingers found emptiness.
Tina was delighted with that smile and, all of a sudden, she felt the unwelcome freedom came to her fingers. The blonde reached for the lakes called eyes from the brunette, steps at distance. Her smile was still there: warm, sparking happiness and hope. Her smile was there, shining bright, like promising lands of joy next time they see it each other.

Wow, Bett shouldn’t be afraid. It would be worse to live a lifetime without her love than a short time with it. It is their destiny. Great update!
