Later That Night …..
"Hey …. where have you been?” asked the skinny white woman from the other end of the line ….
"hey … nowhere” replied the brunette …
"I called many times you didn’t pick up the phone …. is everything ok?”
"ya … sorry … what did you need?”
"we were supposed to go out together … remember?”
"oh right …. I forgot … I’m home now I don’t feel like going out … you go … have fun”
"what is it porter?”
"nothing …. it’s been a long day … I’m just gonna go to bed”
"it’s barely ten!”
"I know … have a good night”
"you too” replied Shane … confused by Bette’s cold tone … "something is wrong with Bette … I’m gonna go check on her” … she continued talking to Alice ….
"I can’t believe it …. you two are trying to ditch me!” spat Alice …
"no really …. she didn’t sound right” repeated Shane … searching her pockets for her keys …
"we’ll I’m coming with you!” said Alice … not believing what Shane just said …
"fine … but be nice …. or you know what … be silent!”
"what! … what was that for!”
"well …. you have a big mouth so keep it shut!” ordered the skinny woman … getting into the car …
Minutes later they were knocking on Bette’s door ….
"who is it?” asked the brunette …
"It’s me … Shane” replied the skinny woman from behind the door …
"Hey …. what brings you here!” asked the brunette after opening the door …. she flashed Shane a dreadful look seeing that she had brought Alice along with her …
"came to keep you company ….. she thought we’re going to ditch her and go some where …. we brought beer” said Shane … explaining why she was here …. and why she brought Alice!
"well …. come on in”
"see you already started” commented Shane …. seeing the two empty beer bottles …
The brunette only shrugged her shoulders …

Yes of course you’re right it’s against rules of ethics but everyone makes mistakes right? (I certainly do for one so I won’t blame her) what I meant by “trying to do the right thing” was that afterwards she avoided her but it wasn’t to be intenionally hurting or cold she was just trying to be professional (which means she WAS trying to respect the rules of ethics after all). Well, my interpretation of the facts. Anyway, great story, PPS! Oh and just for the sake of it: …
Well, at least Bette is aware of how self centered she’s being. It doesn’t seem to be enough to stop her from acting selfishly yet though. I wish Shane would give her a push in the right direction instead of letting her off the hook on this one.
Difficult situation.Bette is of course trying to do the right thing but she dont know,what the right thing to do is exactly .Great story.Thank you.PPS

You’re right about the ethics of this situation. But at this point, our favorite couple is salvageable! First we gotta convince Tina that surgery is in her best interest…then we go from there. Please come back soon. I really enjoy your story.
They really need to talk. Bette needs to tell Tina how she feels and for the time being remain her doctor and friend. Did I tell what a great writer you are?
Tina refused to do the surgery was not the kiss itself, more the behavior of Bette after the kiss, refusing even to talk to Tina. That really must have frightened Tina besides the count. I love his story.PPS

Can’t believe Bette went to her home and then didnt say a word to her. She’s right she is an idiot, she should have at least spoken to her and told her again she was sorry then maybe Tina would have let her explain. Maybe Shane can talk her into going to see her again.
