    “Wait!” exclaimed Alice hastily “I mean, oh wait! I forgot to kiss you!”

     

    “That’s really not…” Estelle had to pause as her lips received a smacker from Alice “…necessary”

     

    Pleased with herself, Alice sat down, twirling her hand elegantly (or so she thought) at Bette and Helena “Oh and how’re you, Bette dear and Helena dear?” Honestly, the ‘dear’s was cluttering up her lines.

     

    Peggy hid a smile as she wondered why on earth Estelle was trying to fool her into thinking this was her woman. She’s sweet and seems amusing enough, and she is blonde. She could very well remember numerous blondes being granted Estelle’s company. Though they seemed to be more of that type, thought Peggy as her eyes landed on a blonde woman just entering the restaurant. And sure enough…

     

    “Tina!”

     

    Chapter 14

     

    “Tina!”

     

    “Estelle, I think she heard you the first time” quipped Helena dryly before peering around “In fact, I think everyone here heard you. Hello, Tina. Good to see you” She stood to greet Tina who also looked bemused at this… loud display of attention.

     

    Grinning at Estelle’s impressive impression of a goldfish, Bette also stood and gave Tina a quick peck on the cheek “Hey, Tina”

     

    “Hi guys, fancy seeing you all here” Tina’s smile had a mischievous tinge. Well, it was more than a tinge– matter of fact, it’d be more accurate to say her mischievous expression had a tinge of smile. Its like having coffee with a lot of sugar- too much sugar and you’re having sugar with a bit of coffee, not the other way around. [Author’s note: Not the moral of the story, but you may take that home with you].

     

    “You knew we were here” laughed Helena.

     

    Tina’s smile widened “Well, I did find a frantic message on my answering machine about a dinner. But it was more like half a message- its like you changed your mind about inviting me halfway through the message, Estelle. So, of course I had to come”

     

    On cue, Alice’s jaw dropped further down and her eyes bulged in the best omfg-I-don’t-believe-this expression you ever saw. She turned to Estelle “OhmyfuckinggodIdon’tbelievethis!” Told you it was a good expression. “Estelle! I was second choice?! I was second cho…”

    6. This chapter was funny even though seeing Bette & Tina with other people feels a little weird…and sad….especially with all of them breaking bread together and sharing witty banter.
