Destiny in a Mechanics shop (Pt 12) Oh shit!
Half an hour later, Tina and Joel were lining up at MILK. Tina not really excited about tonight. They stood in the line for what seemed like hours, until they finally got into the packed club.
The atmosphere was great! People enjoying themselves, with their loving partners. Tina looked around, dumbfounded and hurt. Now she really didn’t want to be there at all.
“Hey Babe, there’s a table over there.” Joel lightly tugged on Tina’s hand. Tina looked up at Joel, looking totally out of it, which was true she was.
‘What am I doing?’ Tina questioned. ‘I shouldn’t be like this. I got a beautiful boyfriend, who cares for e and respects me. I have my dream job and a salary to die for, why dont I fill fulfilled? I love him…Don’t I?’ Tina shook her head in agreement, trying to generate a smile on her face and to try and have a good time, at least for Joel’s sake.
“What do you want to drink?” Joel shouted over the thumping music.
“Scotch on the rocks.” Tina replied.
Joel looked somewhat curious to Tina’s drink choice. He knew that she drank, but he had never seen her drink a hard drink like Scotch. Tina just looked down at the table and proceeded to start playing with a coaster. Joel went off to the bar, to collect the drinks. Five minutes later he returned. Tina downed her Scotch in a matter of seconds.
“I’m going to get another one. Do you want anything else?” Joel looked down at his beer and then back to Tina
“No I’m all right thanks.”
Tina trudged over to the bar, sitting on one of the fluorescent chairs, waiting for the bar tenders assistance. Everywhere she looked she saw happy ***** couples. Sighing out of frustration, Tina just looked at the bar.
“What can I get you love?” The bar tender looking straight at Tina.
“Can I have a Scotch on the rocks please.” Tina passed over five dollars, getting small change in return as well as her Scotch. Again in a matter of seconds, Tina downed her Scotch, the bar tender watching in amazement.
“Jeez lady, your the first woman I’ve seen drink a straight Scotch like that.”
Tina looked up at him, glaring.
“Tell you what.” The bar tender began. “The next one’s on the house.”
Tina lightly grinned and downed that Scotch too.
After trudging back to Joel, her words slightly slurred. “Hey babe, C’mon lets dance.” Slightly tugging on his shirt, Joel rose up and guided Tina to the remote part of the dance floor.
After a few up beat songs it came to a slow song. God send me angel. Tina’s emotions started to show as the song began to play. The alcohol pulsing through her, made her look even worse.
Tina Grabbed hold of Joel, letting her head rest on his chest. They swayed their hips slowly, turning around every so often. Tina had her eyes closed most of the time, until one of the lights beamed into her closed eyes. After seeing what the problem was Tina’s eyes looked around the busy nightclub. Eventually stopping on ***** couple right behind Joel and herself. Tina admired that these women could go out and still show their affection for each other.
The couple started to turn around and it suddenly dawned on Tina who it was. Bette and Alice.
“Oh *****.” Tina whispered. Yet her eyes never left them. Tina wanted to see Bette again. Slowly but surely Bette turned to face Tina’s way, having the same shock sensation as Tina. Her mouth-moving like a gold fish out of water. Tina started to feel sick and suddenly pulled away from Joel, whispering to him, “I have to got to the bathroom.” Slipping away from him and being digest into the crowd.
Tina was almost running to the toilet, her tear streaked face showing occasionally by the bright, flashing lights.
Tina pushed open the massive door, directing her into the ladies bathroom. She checked if anyone else was around and when she was satisfied that there wasn’t, the tears started to pour out of her eyes. After seeing Bette with Alice, Tina never wanted to go out again.
Tina suddenly heard the ladies main bathroom door swing open, quickly wiping away her tears, Tina snuffled everything else away. She looked down at the sink; she couldn’t bare anyone seeing her like this.
