Destiny in a Mechanics shop (Pt 10) Surprise..

2 months, two weeks and a day had past since Tina had seen Bette last. The only reason that Tina had been so long, is she had a business trip to go on and still didn’t have the guts to call Bette and talk to her about ‘that night’

Unlocking her apartment door, Tina let it swing open of its own accord. Standing there buggered as all *****; Tina slowly made her way inside, dragging her black suitcase behind her, into her bedroom. Leisurely taking off her clothes, Tina thought about the last couple of weeks. How they had been so hectic and full of documentation. Thats why her suitcase was so heavy! Half of it was documentation about the clients and privacy policies, not to mention her dairy almost bursting at it seems.
After walking into the kitchen and grabbing a bottle of water, Tina walked over to the answering machine, pressing play to hear all the people that had missed her.

“You have 30 new messages.” Her phone talked to her.
    BEEP

“First msg received on the 20th of June”

Tina started to walk back into the kitchen after hearing the familiar voice of her mother then her boss and then her mother again. Yet when it got to message 15 Tina came racing into the Lounge.

“Hey, Christina. Its me…Bette. I was just wondering what you were up to and to see if you got my mail and stuff…So yeah…(sighs) Look I’m really sorry about what happened a couple of weeks ago, I know that I came on to strong.”

“No you didn’t.” Tina whispered as if Bette was right there instead of the answering machine.

“So Ill guess I’ll catch you round.” BEEP

“*****.” Tina groaned. As she collapsed onto the soft sofa. A bottle of water in one hand and the other laying comfortably on Tina’s stomach.
The answering machine was drowned out by her mind thinking of ways to approach Bette.

“You could call her, or send her a msg or an e-mail.” Her brain suggested over and over.

“***** it.” Tina thought. I’m just going to go round there and confront it.” Nodding her head sternly as she got up and changed into short shorts and a tank top. Slipping on her sandals and grabbing her keys, Tina was out the door before you could say “Ima cumin!”

Sliding into the warm comfortable seats of her Porsche’ Tina drove off, leaving two fresh tyre marks in front of her apartment building.

Tina was a total zombie driving to Bette’s. Questions and statements going through her mind that she could ask Bette… She knew what she felt for Bette, yet she didn’t know if it was the right thing to do for her career. Yes she did like Bette more then a friend, However the next step almost seemed to big for her right now…Although she brought this upon herself, Tina knew that she had to talk to Bette and tell her that she had deeper feelings for her. That it was so hard no to touch her, or to melt every time that she smiled or laughed or did that little shy “looking at her feet and giggling” thing that she did when she first met her.

Tina turned the corner a zoomed down Bettes Street, holding her breath as she did so. Part of her wanted Bette to be out and the other half want all these feelings to be out in the open.

Tina pulled up in front of Bette’s warehouse, seeing that there were lights on, she figured that someone was there, whether it was Bette or not was another subject altogether. After hastily tugging at the hand break and pulling out the keys, Tina took a moment to gather the real thoughts that she wanted to express. Taking a deep breath, Tina got out of her car, and took her time walking up to Bette’s door. When she got there she heard the familiar laughter of Bette, which made her feel a little better.

Tina harshly knocked on the door, hurting her knuckles a little as she did so. Tina figured that this place was so big, that she needed to knock hard so that it could be heard if someone was down the back. The rattles of safety locks and keys could be heard from the other side of the door. Again Tina took a deep breath and shook her hands, trying to release the tension that had been placed there.

The door opened, she saw that 1000 wot smile that she loved and sighed in relief.

“Hi” Tina said awkwardly, looking at her shoes. Suddenly a hand came to Tina’s face, cupping her chin and pulling it up so that she would look at Bette.

“Hi” Replied Bette, still with the smile of her face.
“Tina, what are you doing here?”

“I had to come…and see you… Talk to you.”

    “What about?”

“That night.” Again Tina had to look at something else, the tension that was held between her and Bette was getting hard to bare.

“Oh..Ok then.” Suddenly Bette went shy.

“I just came to say…Th… that I feel feelings for you too…Something deeper then friendship…I thi…. I think I’m falling…fa” Tina shook her head, hoping that would settle her nerves a bit. Finally she looked into Bette’s eyes, those two brown orbs of passion, of hope.

Tina whispered. “I think I’m falling in love with you.” She huffed at the end of her sentence, the weight finally being lifted from her shoulders.

Suddenly she heard an unfamiliar voice in the background of Bette’s warehouse.

    “Baby” they called.

Bette still shocked at Tina’s confession, she didn’t hear the voice until it called out for a second time.
    “Yeah babe, I’m here.”

“Is that the pizza guy? Have you got enough money? Coz I got some spare change if you need…I” The sentence stopped abruptly when the woman sore Tina standing at the door. Tina also in shock, didnt know what to say. The girl was beautiful, short hair and soft curves of her body were alluring. Her eyes bold, almost the same as the body language.

    “Oh hi.” The woman offered.

    “Uhm.Hi.” Tina replied.

Bette was leaning on the door. Still partly in shock, she didnt know what to do. Rubbing her bare arm and looking down at the ground. She quietly whispered “Alice this is Tina, Tina this is Alice…My girlfriend.”

Tina thought she was going to pass out. ‘Her girlfriend? Am I to late? *****!’ her mind exclaimed and she knew that it was showing in her eyes.

“It’s nice to meet you Tina…Sorry to be rude, but natures calling.” Alice ran off in the direction of the bathroom, whilst Tina and Bette stood there in shock.

“I…I’m sorry I bothered you Bette.” Tina said quietly, as she began to turn around and headed for her car. Tears once again starting to form in her eyes. It was almost just like a repeat of ‘that night’

“Tina…wait. Tina.” Bette grabbed Tina’s wrist, stopping her and turning her around. “Tina please stop and listen to me.”

Tina stood there, looking at a small blade of grass on the pathway.

“Tina, after that night, I didn’t know what to do…I wanted you so badly…I sent you two things..They expressed how much I wanted you in my life…Th..Then when I didn’t get a reply, I thought that it wasnt meant to be. So I started to move on with my life.”

Tina looked up at Bette, seeing that tears were forming in Bette’s eyes too. Tina whispered. “I guess thats it huh?” Shaking Bette off her wrist and walking to her car once again. Tina had had enough; it was time for a change, and also to forget any memory of an Elizabeth Porter.
