Daughters of Kirk and Spock, Resumes4

Christina’s mind reeled.  There had been talk of the relationship between her father and Kirk.  Kirk and Spock…Spock and Kirk theirs was a relationship that legends had risen from.

“I had unwittingly broken his mating bond just before he met your mother.  He was open and silent and I was young and foolish.  I wanted him but was invested in my reputation as a stud to females.  By the time I came to terms with my love for him it was too late. He had already mated with your mother.” There was a trace of wistfulness in his voice.

“This sounds very much like my course with Elizabeth only she was on time.”

Elizabeth shivered at the thought.  Enough of this listening she needed to be a part of this conversation.  Still as her father continued his tale she stood transfixed.

“I do not mean any disrespect for your mother.  She is a lovely woman and she makes him happy.  I do know that I could have made him happier.” There was fierceness in his tone that she never heard before.  “He never said a word of love to me…yet I knew he loved me.” Unable to continue what he has to say to another being he stood and faced the viewport.  “He showed me everyday standing by my side.”  He fixed her with a look that spoke of the depth of his being.   “That is what you give Elizabeth.  She would not trade you for a thousand declarations of love nor would I he.”

“Damned right” Elizabeth huffed charging into the room at last unable to remain quiet and watch this revelation from afar. “I would not trade Christina for anything in this universe and I do not need words to know that she loves me.”

“Good Evening Elizabeth, did you enjoy your nap?” He raised both eyebrows at her eruption.

She glared at him and sat beside her wife wrapping her arm around her protectively.  Christina took her free hand and that gesture alone told her how right she was to join them.

“How much did you hear?”  Kirk asked speculatively.

“Enough to know that I am in need of some answers too Dad. I thought I heard you say that Commodore Spock is the love of your life.”

“That’s right” Kirk responded with a tilt of his chin.  It was a classic Kirk posture indicating he would take whatever the universe dished out at him.

Elizabeth stared at him again not sure she was really hearing this from her father.  He was always so easy and confident.  She was not used to this reflective person.

“Did you ever talk of this between you?”  Christina asked.

“Yes.  We talked or should I say I did most of the talking and he most of the listening. It was that way between us. I understood what he could not say and spoke of what I felt and knew.”   Again there was a wistful smile of memory. “I think that you two share that unspoken connection that we did.  Words are unnecessary most of the time when there is a meeting of the heart.”

The two sat in stunned silence.

“Yes Sir, we know what you are talking about.”  Christina admitted tightening her grip of Elizabeth’s hand.

“I cornered him here or my version of here.”  He gestured to the cabin the Captain’s Quarter’s to any discerning military eye. “I told him that I was in love with him and as impossible as it seemed that we should give what was between us a chance.”

The doorbell chimed for the second time this night.

They all looked at one another not wanting to end the conversation.

“If it is anything urgent the Bridge will contact us.”  Elizabeth said dismissively riveted to her father’s story.

Kirk looked at Christina.  “Do you also wish to leave your sire in the corridor?”

“Come.” Christina called and the doors slid open to Spock.

Spock stepped into the cabin and the doors closed behind him.

Spock sought Kirk first.  Then as if satisfied that he was there turned to his daughters.

“I am here…” and Kirk relaxed in a way that he only did in Spock’s presence “to answer any questions that Jim cannot.”

Elizabeth and Christina looked at one another.

“Surreal.” They voiced at the same time.

    3. Okay, for the record, I have jotted down most of my next update but it will be tomorrow before I develop it to post. Meanwhile, I keep getting these marvelous updates to read!!! Thank you, kelika!!! (BTW, I imagine James T. Kirk aged better in this story than the one where he became a lawyer *wink*).

    4. Surreal to say the least. This should be interesting. Interesting timing that Spock arrived just then. Do he and Jim have something of a meld of their own?

    5. Just had an idea…now that The L Word is reaching it’s conclusion how about we petition for a gay Star Trek? Kelika you would definitely need to agree to write the series. What a hoot! All our favorite characters would be the same — just with a new and exciting twist. I always thought that the ship’s counselor and Dr. Beverly Crusher were a little on the “Bi” side so we need to make certain we combine The Next Generation Folks with the original cast members, too. Can’t wait to see where you take the next chapter…Spock and Kirk so have that mind meld thing happening…

    6. Hahaaaaaaaaaa…Kelika posting on Wednesday…thank you god for listening. SK and Lin…props to you guys for getting the old pen moving…I am like winning big time…more Kelika, faster SK and Lin…what’s not to love about this! You know, I always suspected a little undercurrent between Spock and Jim! Keep it up Kelika…I love this story!

    7. Surreal, indeed, Kelika. With all due respect for your writing powers, might I have a small serving of brain bleach? Kirk and Spock….together? I respect your creativity. Thanks!

    8. surreal is right!!! Lmao…Its NZ TIme tomorrow nite….its still a work in process. i just told Md how guilty i feel becuz you and sunkissed have kept up. sorry friends.

    9. K, your writing as always is perfect IMHO. You make these characters so enticing you can’t stop reading your story cause of the depth of how you create your characters. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.

    10. Hmm…just curious–are we trading one-for-one chapters? Not sure I could keep up with you when you are on a roll! But I do have another chapter of Thief ready to upload, so you better catch up!! Thanks for your own Star Trek universe–I have a suspicion that I would like it better than the original anyway!

    11. Surreal indeed!!!! God, I love the way you write. You have a way with words in describing love in whatever realm are simple and heartfelt yet very eloquent. You make us feel what your characters are experiencing. That is wonderful writing. Can hardly wait to read what Spock has to say. Do they share a meld of their own? Post when you can.

    12. How will Tina and Bette take this Do the father have a melt of their own? At least you make us wish for more of your writing. You make us wish we were there to see all this instead of reading it. thanks so much for writing this .

    13. Just catching up again. Giggled like a kid when I read: ‘I cornered him here or my version of here.’ – just imagined Kirk chasing Spock around the room! :-) Thanks for posting!
