“Ugh, Alice, I get what you’re saying, you don’t have to go into details.” Dana buried her face in her hands and groaned, disrupting Alice’s ramble, Tasha’s fantasy, Carmen’s hesitation and Shane’s contemplation.
Sighing, Shane put her mind back on the topic at hand, which was helping the tennis player with her new crush, some country club sous-chef Lara Perkins. “Dane, gotta ask her out.”
“Yeah, like Yoda said, what’s to lose?” Alice crossed her arms in front of her chest.
“You don’t understand, I’m a member of the club, and she’s their cook. I can’t just go up and say ‘hey you lesbian? wanna have sex?’”
“Dana has a point. I think under these circumstances, it might be wise to figure out which team this little Lara plays on before taking her move.” Carmen piped up.
Amused, Tasha asked a follow up question, “and you propose we do this how?”
“We? Did you just say ‘we’?” Alice practically jumped on her girlfriend, “oh my god! You finally joined in the squad. I’m so proud of you, babe! This totally requires a proper celebration.”
“I look forward to that.” Tasha bit her lower lip and gave the blonde a knowing glance.
“Hmm, I’m sure you’ll think of something.” Dana rolled her eyes at the couple who were grinning to each other, “back to me?”
The women looked among themselves, no one coming up with an actual doable plan, until Carmen pursed her lips and said, “Bette.”
“Excuse you, we don’t need her to come up with an evil plan.” A little offended, Alice tried to defend her intelligence.
However, the rest of the bunch saw reason. If they were talking about some clever undercover strategy, to infiltrate and gather knowledge, Bettie Kenter, previously known as Bette Porter, would be the go-to person.
Dana was obviously convinced, but she was a bit reluctant to bother her friend, “well, maybe I can ask her for help next time we see her?”
“Then you’ve got a long time to wait, my friend.” Alice pointed out, “Bette’s like a freaking weaver bird, all busy holing up with her precious egg. You wanna meet her, you gotta dig in the nest.” She gestured to the door.

I do like a happy ending. So this is it, chapter 15 finale.
Thanks for ridding along with me on this one. It’s been a little crazy, and I’ve bent so much on how I originally wanted it to go, but I’d say I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.
Gotta prepare for a new semester, but I’m sure I’ll figure something out every now and then.
