Lara felt a warm tingling start at the soles of her feet. It traveled up in a slow delicious progression as she felt herself fall into the orgasm, the contractions causing her body to shudder repeatedly. She murmured, over and over again as she felt the waves break, "I love you, I love you."
She continued to shudder lightly, as she turned her attention to Alice’s need. She began to explore Alice’s body with her mouth and hands, moving downward inch by inch. She began to kiss Alice’s thighs and smiled when Alice writhed in painful ecstasy. She gasped, "Lara, god, I can’t wait! Please–"
Lara tasted her then, and Alice almost came off the bed. Almost immediately, the shudders began, and continued until Alice had to hold Lara’s head stationary.
Lara crawled on top, and held her until her breathing steadied.
In the silence that followed, Lara let out a soft laugh.
"What’s so funny?" Alice managed, as her heart slowed to a regular beat.
"Not a thing. I’m just happy."
Alice smiled. She’d rolled over and let Lara spoon her. It hadn’t taken long for the two to drop off into peaceful slumber.
When Alice awoke two hours later, she watched Lara sleep and ran through the evening’s events in her mind again. Happily she snuggled into Lara’s body again and closed her eyes.
As she lay there, she could feel Lara begin tense up, her body jerking slightly. A muffled whimper escaped Lara’s lips, and Alice realized what was happening. Lara was having a nightmare.

She was walking down a forest path, the air cold and heavy with moisture, so her breath appeared in short puffs as she exhaled. She knew Alice was nearby, she’d seen her walk into the trees only a few minutes before. As she moved forward, her eyes scanned ahead looking for the familiar red jacket. Suddenly, a rope snaked around her feet and scooped her back, causing her to fall with a thud. Twisting over, she watched as Dana began to pull the rope towards her, dragging Lara along the trail, her hands grabbing, but clutching nothing of any substance.
As Dana lessened the gap between them, Lara heard a muffled sound off to the side. She looked over and saw Alice bound and gagged, her eyes frantically begging for help. With a strangled cry, Lara fought with renewed strength.
Dana just laughed. "Look at you, Lara. Will you never learn? Alice belongs to me." She dropped the rope, and moved around Lara towards Alice. Lara began to sit up when she realized that she was ensnared in a spider’s web. Frantically she began to pull at the sticky strands only to find herself increasingly caught. This can’t be. Not now. I can’t let her hurt Alice again. Lara strained and pulled, as Dana reached Alice. Dana removed Alice’s gag. Looking at Lara, Alice said, "I love you, Lara."
With a mighty surge, Lara wrenched herself free from the web and sprinted towards Alice. "Dana!" Her feral cry caused the athletic brunette to turn in surprise. Lara shoved her aside, and grabbed Alice. Holding Alice behind her, she looked at Dana. "No."
Dana’s eyes locked onto Lara’s in surprise. Turning, she walked away, without a backwards glance.

"Alice." Lara said sitting up with a start, her hand clutched in Alice’s.
"I’m here."
Lara turned, and with a slow smile she repeated. "You’re here."

These two are just so… sweet, and I mean that in the most complimentary way possible. Lovely chapter. Ta, Goldrun.
Damn – I missed posting the first comment again! Well, what can I say, Gold? That was hot. And cute. And hot. And sweet. And… did I mention hot? :) The end was just completely perfect – “you’re here”. Awwwww… can I steal that line from you in my story? :) And, as far as “ignoring” Alice’s emotions – that’s hooey (yes, I did just use the word “hooey”)! You’ve given us fantastic insight into both Alice and Lara’s characters – and, if there has been more of an emphasis on Lara’s emotional turmoil over Dana’s death, it has never been to the detriment of Alice’s character. On the contrary, I think that has allowed for a really interesting exploration of Alice’s strengths – something that we don’t get to see often enough. So, thank you for this story, and for yet another terrific update! Epilogue away – and, feel very free to make it a 50-pager so that we can put off the end of this lovely story for as long as possible!
Right back at you with the ability to write hotness. In fact, I think it’s safe to say you put me to shame. And yay for making Dana’s only concern that Lara loves Alice the way she deserves to be loved. That was the subtext, right? Or I am just filling in what I want it to mean? Hey, it works for me. Ditto bluemini on the epilogue…remember Lucky started as one! Looking forward to next week!
Could it be that I have been rendered speechless? Gold, shit fire, this is…gaaaah! I echo jp22’s, Blue’s and SammysGirl’s comments: sweet, hot, and so well done. Sigh, touch-feely–erm, no wait, I don’t mean touchy-feely in a creepy way, I mean in a healthy adult way, both physically and emotionally. It just goes to show you can’t beat engaging in NC-17 scenes with someone you LURVE, hehe;) Or showing your lurve through said actions. Or, whatever. It was just the right thing. I thought for 1.5 seconds that Meg might interrupt them and was prepared to scream at the computer but you did not disappoint. I loved Alice’s “did you hear what -I- said” right back at Lara combined with Lara’s sincere gratification for Alice’s support…and finally, neither of them bolts off before saying what they needed to say. Yes! So now we are privy to their knowledge that they are together together, and that is just sa-weet. I like the image and symbolism of Dana walking away…can she rest easy now? As always, I anticipate with great fanfic crack addict desire how you will epilogue and/or last chapter this goodness. While the number 20 is an excellent rounding off point, don’t forget that ’25’ and ’30’ are also divisible by 5, just in case you go off on a sequel tangent. Hahah, laugh, dammit, I am funny! Ah, what can I say, this fic is deep-dish-dee-lish. Can’t wait for more when you can get to it!! Thanks for sharing your consistently delectable writing, your awesomely witty comments and…I’ll be checking back, don’t you worry now…!

Damn, you’re updates were still faster than I could catch up. I hate it when work is kicking my ass. :( Oh no…the end is near! How about a 5 * 5. (25 is my lucky number….hint hint :P) But good thing you’re going to do an epilogue. I always love those. :D As for the last two chapters. Wow…that’s all I can say. So much unsolved emotions are still in the air. Lara’s fear for rejection once she confesses what really happens in her dreams (and ofcourse the fear for her own dreams). Alice for saying I love you, but still insecure about Lara’s feelings for her (she doesn’t need to be). But I’m glad they found a way to get some distraction…yeah that was one hot distraction. :P And they can always talk tomorrow…or the day after tomorrow…or the day after that. Because you can say one thing for sure, Alive isn’t going anywhere and so is Lara.:D Btw, did you vist last.fm already?
