“Hmm, so, is there something I could assist you with?”
“No. I’m all set. I’ll be right back.”
“Where are you headed?”
“Outside,” Bette slips her coat on, “I’m going to talk to my daughter. Something’s troubling her and I need to know what is it. I won’t rest until I know. But, in the meantime grab some food and enjoy yourself. There’s plenty to look at.” Bette smiled and turned around. Michelle chuckled and went in the opposite way. Bette stepped outside and saw her daughter sitting down along the curve. She looked sad and lost. This saddened the brunette. Taking care of Angelica and making sure she was happy ever second of the day wasn’t going to be easy. She could only imagine what the years to come would look like. “Hey.”
“Hey mommy,” Angelica cracked a half smile, and stood from the sidewalk. “I know you don’t want me messin up my clothes, but I tried my hardest to keep it clean.”
“It’s okay sweetie. I’m not worried about your clothes. They are replaceable, but you know what isn’t?”
“What?”
“This,” Bette placed her hand against Angelica’s heart. She frowned and sat down next to her daughter. She moved closer and held her tight in her arms. “You really miss your momma T huh?”
“Yes ma’am. I miss her so bad that I could cry when I think about it. My heart hurts mommy. It’s not the same without her here. I thought that maybe it might be easy by brushing her off, but, because I’ve met her, and got a chance to know her, it isn’t as easy as what I thought it would be. You can’t just throw away the person that you love, or erase them from her heart, because no matter what they’re still there. It’s like they’re engraved in you chest or something. Is that normal?”
“Yes baby. What would you like me to do?”
“Just hold me mommy. Hold me and tell me mommy’s thinking about me. Hold me and tell me that everything’s going to be alright, even though I know it isn’t. Hold me and tell me that…that…”
“What baby?,” Bette gazed down in to her daughter’s worrying eyes.
“That you won’t leave me like mommy did. Tell me mommy. Tell me that you won’t make the mistake of walking out on someone so beautiful, smart, loving, caring, and intelligent as I am. Tell me you won’t make that mistake that mommy did when she dropped me off and kept stepping. Tell me mom”.

I am suddenly reminded of Rocky Horror Picture Show with all of the names-calling (Janet! Dr. Scott! Janet! Brad! Rocky! *Rocky glares*). And OMG Tina with the memo pad. WTF!!!! She must’ve been a big fan of Back to the Future (George McFly scribbling down a bunch of sweet stuff to say to Marty’s mom only to fuck it up lol). And me a comedian? Nahhhhh I don’t consider myself on the same plane with people like Ellen DeGeneres and Robin Williams. I just prefer to make people happy and in the process possibly capture the attention of “The One.”

This is what we’ve been waiting for, like, forever. Thanks for the reunion. Isn’t it amazing how intutitive and sensitive Angelica is? She could just feel Tina’s presence in NY and was seemingly uneasy all day long. And what a shock Tina’s reappearance was for Bette…she fainted.
