Bette returned with the food a few minutes later and was greeted by Alice and Shane who helped her carry the food in. Tina and Dana were sitting at the kitchen table looking at some magazines and when Tina heard her come in she looked up at Bette and gave her a big smile. Tina had been dying to tell everyone what was going on but she had waited just like she promised. Bette had called Kit on her way to get the food and Kit and Ivan walked in the door right behind Bette. They set all the food out on the counter and after everyone had a full plate Alice spoke up.

Okay, you got us all over here. What is going on?

Bette looked at Tina and gave her a loving smile. Bette leaned down and kissed Tina softly on the lips before turning back to everyone.

Well, Tina and I have some news.

Oh my god are you pregnant again?

Bette gave Alice an irritated look but that soon disappeared when Alice jumped up and hugged both her and Tina. Shane had a goofy smile on her face and Dana was so excited she could hardly sit still. Kit and Ivan looked at each other before pulling Bette and Tina in for big hugs. Everyone was kind of speechless for a second before Dana broke the silence.

So you are right? I mean that was the big news?

Yes Dana, were pregnant again.

Congratulations guys really, wow.

Bette and Tina looked at Shane who had a dreamy look in her eye and they reached out and wrapped her into a three-person hug. Dana was still really excited about everything and she let out a small squeal of happiness and flung her arms around Tina. She turned and gave Bette a similar hug and finally settled down on Alices lap. Bette and Tina exchanged a small laugh as they watched Alice give Dana a small kiss on the cheek before casually throwing one arm around her waist. They had become quite the couple over this past year and Bette and Tina were so happy for them. Everyone went back to their food and before long all the contents of the take out cartons were gone. Alice, Dana, Shane and Tina had moved outside by the pool while Bette, Kit and Ivan were in the kitchen cleaning up.

So baby sister, what do you think?

They laughed between themselves as Ivan watched the exchange between the sisters and she felt happy seeing Kit so happy. Ivan and Kit had become something of an item also, but Kit would never admit that she actually fell in love with a woman. In her eyes, Ivan is the perfect person and she doesnt see things as defined by gender. Kit hugged Bette once more and the three of them walked out to join the others by the pool.

Alice and Dana were sitting with their legs in the pool while Shane and Tina were laying on two of the lounge chairs next to it. Kit and Ivan sat down on the last lounge chair while Bette moved behind Tina pulling her into her arms. Everyone was sitting there kind of quiet for a second before Alice once again broke the silence.

So what do you guys think it will be this time?

I dont know. It doesnt matter though, either way we will be happy.

Sure it matters, what do you two know about raising a boy?

Its not that difficult Al. He will have his guy friends to learn about sports and all that kind of stuff and we can teach him about women and how to love them.

Bette smiled at Tinas last remark and she pulled her in for another soft kiss. Bette laughed a little before pointing out another important thing about raising a boy.

Yeah and we can always give them pointers on how to spot lesbians so his little heart wont get broken.

Well what do you do about people like Alice?

HEY!

Alice shoved Dana into the pool in response to her joking and when Dana reemerged from under the water she had a shocked look on her face. She grabbed hold of one of Alices legs and tried to pull her into the pool but Alice managed to free her foot from Danas grasp. Bette and Tina laughed and Bette stood up to go inside and get Dana a towel. Dana dried off and pretended to be mad a Alice and Shane watched them with a slightly amused look on her face.

Seriously though guysyou are lucky to have a second chance for a family.

Yeah we are arent we babe?

Tina turned and gave Bette a kiss on the cheek and Bette blushed a little. Bette looked at Kit who had a happy smile on her face and she felt the true meaning behind Shanes words. Alice and Dana had been whispering to each other for a little while and Dana looked up laughing.

Whats so funny over there?

Nothing. Alice was just wondering if you two were going to become overly domesticated again.

You mean BORING?

Everyone laughed at Tinas exaggerated comment in reference to the intervention that Alice, Shane and Dana had done on her and Bette. She shook her head at Alice and gave her a contented smile. She rubbed her stomach gently and looked at Alice as she teased her a little.

I promise we wont become too boring Al. But dont worry, someday you will understand.

Hey not menot anytime soon at least. Im not ready to have kids.

Then maybe you should stop sleeping with men Al.

Everyone laughed at Shanes comment and Alice had her hands on her hips and an irritated look on her face.

Hey I havent slept with a man in almost a year and a half.

Better not have.

Dana gave Alice a look of mock jealousy and everyone laughed again. Bette sighed as she looked around and was so happy to have everyone back in her life like before. The times she missed most when her and Tina were separated were the times like these when everyone was together just enjoying each others company. This is my real family she thought as she looked down at Tina and gave her a kiss on the forehead. Tina smiled at this and Kit watched them happily while settling back into Ivans arms. Kit had taken it so hard when Bette told her about her affair because she truly believed that Bette and Tina were meant to be together and seeing them both hurting because of one another was almost too much to take. Dana and Alice were whispering amongst themselves again and Bette felt another smart-***** remark coming on.

So how many kids are you guys going to have?

Um I think well take it one at a time Al.

I know but you have to plan these things. Its not like Tina can have kids forever, youre what thirty four? You have like maybe two or three more good child bearing years left in you and we all know Bettes already too old right?

For your information Alice some people have had kids when they were in their forties.

Oh my god can you imagine Bette Porter at forty and pregnant? Now that I would like to see.

Alice was laughing so hard she almost fell over into the pool. Dana and Shane looked at each other guiltily before laughing their asses off and even Kit and Ivan were laughing so hard they had tears in their eyes. Tina was laughing too and Bette laughed a little even though she was trying to hold it in. Alice did have a point. There was no way in ***** she was going to try and carry a child even now let alone when she hit forty. She looked down at Tina who was still laughing and gave her a look that said its not THAT funny. Tina reached up and pulled Bette in for a gentle kiss to wipe away any anger and squeezed her hand as if to say, its okay I still love you.

Well its not like youre getting any younger either Alice.

Yeah but Im not trying to pop out kids either. Seriously Tina, you have to consider how many kids you want so you can figure out when you should get pregnant again.

Isnt that rushing things a little Al? I mean they havent even had this one yet.

Thank you Shane for pointing out the obvious. Im just saying a little planning never hurt anyone.

Bette gave Alice an exasperated look as she gently reached down and rubbed Tinas stomach. Tina placed her hand over Bettes and leaned into her contentedly. They sat out by the pool with their friends for a little while longer before everyone decided it was getting late. After everyone had gone Bette jumped in the shower and Tina went to lie down. When Bette came back into the room Tina was lying on her back reading a book. Bette changed into her pajamas and crawled in bed next to Tina. She gently placed her body directly in between Tinas legs and pulled the book out of her hands. She put the book on the table next to the bed and wrapped her arms around Tinas waist before lowering her head and kissing Tinas stomach softly.

Goodnight little one.

Tina laughed at Bettes playful gesture and she reached out and took Bettes face in her hands. Bette looked up at her with a smile on her face and Tina felt her heart melt at the expression in Bettes eyes. She saw the love that Bette had for her mixed with the excitement of their soon to be child. Tina smiled at her before raising an eyebrow seductively.

So Ms. Porter, want to have your way with me while I still have this body?

Bette smiled and licked her lips in anticipation. She lifted herself up and placed a soft kiss on Tinas lips.

Baby I would want you no matter what you looked like.

Tina laughed and wrapped her arms around Bettes neck. She pulled Bette down on top of her and soon they were rolling around and laughing before they brought each other to climax. As they lay there exhausted and happy Tina reached out and pulled Bette into her arms. They fell asleep like this and in the morning Tina woke up to Bette gently stroking her face. It was the first time in forever that Tina could remember being so happy when she woke up and she knew it was because of the woman lying right beside her. Bette sighed happily as she looked at Tina and saw the happiness dance across her eyes. Bette didnt know what lie ahead of them but she knew that right now, there was nothing on earth that could have made her happier.









*** kind of off topic but in the comments for New Love someone asked about continuing the story through the engagement, wedding etc. I already did that it’s called Happier Times (I think if you just search you’ll find it) but if yall want I will continue New Love through those moments again and make them a little bit different.
