    Bette gets a visitor… it’s Alpha Tina knocking on her door…

    Bette had goose bumps when she disconnected the call. She took a moment to regain her composure before she called Jeremy Conner. They made the arrangements for meeting at lunch the next day. Bette finished up some paperwork and made it home just before ten o’clock. She fell asleep on the couch, still dressed, with the TV on.
    Tina worked on a script until midnight before she slipped under the covers, hugging a pillow tight to her body.

    Tina left work at lunchtime Thursday. She went to the marked to do the grocery shopping for the dinner she wanted to cook for Bette. She knew Bette would leave work at around 4.40pm for her to make it in time. But Tina had a change in plans in store for Bette. She wanted to surprise her at The CAC, just to bring a little spontaneity into the life of the lovely Bette Porter.

    Bette met Jeremy at Chez Pierre, a little bistro not too far from UCLA. He was waiting at the table when she arrived.
    “Bette, you look as stunning as always…” Jeremy said as he got up to greet Bette.
    “Thanks, Jer… you don’t look so bad yourself,” Bette laughed.
    “And how is your beautiful wife?”
    “Tina, she’s good… we’ve been apart for a while, but right now we’re making progress,” Bette explained.
    “I’m sorry to hear that, Bette… You seemed so happy together… what happened?”
    Bette sighed, “We were happy together for a long time… but then we stopped making the effort, I guess. Tina had a miscarriage… and I had an affair… Everything was so very horrible for a while. Jer, I thought I lost her, but as it turns out I’ve been given the second chance that I’ve prayed for. Things are good now and hopefully we’ve learned a few things.”
    “So you looking for a new job is part of making amends with Tina?”
    “Yes and no. I want to show Tina that I am capable of living a life where work doesn’t take up my every waking moment. But I want a change for me too… I’m tired of The CAC, of Franklin, of spending so little time with the artists… I miss having my own gallery, but I think I’m ready to try something new,” Bette said.
    “Like I said, UCLA would be lucky to have you, Bette… and if you do come to work there, you’ll get to motivate aspiring artists. They could use your experience and knowledge… you’d be a great asset to the students as well as to the faculty as such, “Jeremy said, smiling at Bette.
    “Thanks, Jer… it’s sweet of you to say. And we’d get to hang out again, just like in the good old days. I’d really like that. I missed you… How is Charlie…? Please tell me you’re still together…” Bette said and nudged Jeremy.
    “Sure, we’re still together… we’re in for the long haul… Charlie is fine, he says hi by the way…”
    “You guys should come over for dinner some time…”
    “I’d love that, Bette…”

    16. I just got home from my friends house and I just had to check and see if you posted and I am so glad I did. What can I say…but WOW THAT WAS SO DAMN HOT. I know I will go to sleep with a big smile on my face now. Well that is after….well you know!! LMAO!!! Have a great weekend anker and if the mood strikes you I wouldn’t be bothered if you posted another chapter before the end of the weekend….especially if it’s about Bette repaying Tina. LOL!!     18. I did as you suggested and left the drink far enough away from me that I was not tempted to drink. But I think that I put it to far because now my throat is very dry. I have to find a equal distance to keep from spilling it but also to indulge when necessary. Tina is leaving no stone unturned with this maneuvering of Bette.
