    The Thursday dinner continues… drama and a little love for Tina and Bette.

    They managed to sit down and have a nice dinner together. Their conversation flowed from one neutral subject to another. Slowly they both started to relax and the more carefree atmosphere from earlier returned.

    After dinner they took care of the dishes together while making coffee. Tina brought her coffee mug with her out on the patio while Bette went to put on a sweater. This was the first time the state of the garden really registered with her. It didn’t seem like Bette had taken care of it at all. Tina bent down and pulled up a few weeds.
    “It’s no use, Tina… no one will be able to tell the difference,” Bette said from behind her.
    “No, probably not…” Tina said with a little laugh.
    “I’m sorry… I haven’t had the energy to take care of the garden…” Bette said coming up beside Tina.
    “Don’t be sorry, Bette… It was my job to look after the garden… It’s not that bad… a little TLC and it’ll look fine… it’s no big deal.” Tina said and smiled at Bette.
    “Ok? It looks more terminal to me… I wouldn’t even know where to begin…”
    “Oh please… details, Bette… this is not something you should waste time feeling bad about. If you want, I could come by sometime and help you fix it…”
    “You would do that?” Bette said with surprise.
    “Of course… just let me know when… God, I’ve missed this garden…” Tina smiled and bent down again, letting her hand run through the thyme at her feet. She put her hand up to her face and breathed in the fragrance of the herb. She stood back up and reached out her hand to Bette for her to smell the delicate scent too.
    Bette’s hand was shaking when she enveloped Tina’s hand and brought it to her face. It was such an intimate gesture. Bette couldn’t help resting her face into the palm of Tina’s hand. She closed her eyes in delight, the sweet scent of thyme and Tina making her heart sing. Tina held her breath as she watched Bette close her eyes in contentment. She let her hand rest against Bette’s cheek gently letting her thumb caress the soft skin. Bette sighed involuntarily at the touch. When Bette opened her eyes again, she saw the look on Tina’s face. It was pure love and worship. Bette never thought she would be the cause of that look again. The hope she’d had up until Tina’s reference to Candace suddenly returned, rushing through her body like a drug. Tina let the smile that grazed Bette’s face fill up her needy heart. They let go simultaneously, grinning in wonder and a little embarrassment.
    Tina took a step back still smiling at Bette.
    “You don’t have to go do you?” Bette asked a bit disappointed.
    “No… I can stay a while… I don’t have to be at work until 10 tomorrow… I can stay out for a little while longer,” Tina said feeling like teenager with a curfew.
    Bette giggled and let go of Tina’s hand. “Good… I’m glad.”

    7. well done ankar, I don’t know how I missed ch11 but I went back to read it….Its not easy for T to get over B’s betrayal and I understand her running to Henry and Mikey or anywhere…patience and some love will help mend T’s broken heart and mend her confidence I hope…PPS

    8. Yes you were right something good did come from Tina’s outburst. I was really worried for a moment, but they talked about what they were feeling and that is important. I love how it wasn’t just Bette initiating the talking or the touching which is a positive sign. They belong together and this was a good step in that direction. Keep posting.

    13. What are u talking about “if” i read this chapter? Its WHEN i read u’r new chapters. Just to clarify that :) U had me a little scared from Tina blowing up on Bette, just for a sec. I thought this chapter was great. I’m glad they are starting to work things out and get closer. I’m kinda worried about Henry though. Hopefully he wont mess around with Tina’s emotions toward Mikey. Looking forward to u’r next post. So PPS.

    16. Bette and Tina talking openly and honestly with each other—got to love it. I guess they both have to realize that the pain they put each other through isn’t going to go away that quickly, it will take time and work on both their parts to be able to put that pain behind them and move forward. Since the love is still there they can do it together. Please don’t have Henry use his own son to take his hurt out on Tina because Mickey is just an innocent child in all of this and two wrongs don’t make a right. I can’t get enough of your wonderfull story telling anker, so please post again soon and thanks!

    18. I really love how they are reconnecting. There is some intense time but also some special moments time. It is going to take this kind of remembering and working through the pain to get to a spot that they can once again share their lives with each other. I love this front seat view of my favorite couple working to be friends first and hopefully lovers and wives next.

    22. This was a lovely chapter, after the storm, the calm and love arrived and Tina did it so good, if in the last chpater i was a little anger with her with this one i love her more. It will be difficult for Tina her meeting with Micky but Bette will be there for support her. thanks for this lovely post
