Collision Course 4.77
“My mommies are coming,” repeated Angelica.
“That they are…,” said Jo, hoisting her more snuggly into her arms, the boys already in front of her, Shay casting one last look at his dad. “Shay, are you ok?”
“What’s gonna happen to him?” asked Shay as Jo ushered them out into the hallway.
“They’ll arrest him, charge him, he’ll go to jail….,” said Jo softly.
“Good, he’s a fuck up,” snapped Shay, breaking into a dead run down the hallway, Jarrod did the same.
Jo felt Angelica nuzzling to her neck, mumbling some song that Jo didn’t know. Jo’s eyesight had returned to normal for the first time since Bette had injected her. Her hand finding Angelica’s face, caressing it gently as she walked, what had Angelica done to her to help her regain that last sliver of control that had eluded her?
Pushing through the door into the twilight, FBI cars were arriving, and Emma wasn’t far behind them, pushing Gabe towards the cars. Then, Tina’s Honda careened towards them, Jo set Angelica down and she ran towards her two moms.
“Angelica!” yelled Bette as she got out of the car as it was still moving. Tina threw it into park, running over to Bette and Angelica, who’d rushed into Bette’s arms. Bette felt Tina’s arms wrapping around her, and she looked up at Jo, who had slipped on a pair of sunglasses again. Bette was overcome with emotions, not only for having Angelica safe in her arms, but for Jo, who’s obviously saved her. Kissing Angelica’s cheek, handing her to Tina, whose eyes were filled with tears which now stained her cheeks, “I’ll be right back.”
Bette walked over to Jo, who didn’t move a muscle, Emma was signing the chain of custody papers, and she looked up, groaning silently. Bette stood in front of Jo, her hands shaking, reaching up and removing Jo’s sunglasses, gasping at the sight of the now blue eyes, “Blame your daughter.”
“What?” asked Bette, stammering, her chest heaving hard because Jo had allowed her to be close to her. One step closer to forgiveness. “What do you mean, it’s Angelica’s fault?”
“I don’t know, I just started seeing normal after she… after she was safe,” said Jo, reaching for Bette’s hand, and Bette gasped in anticipation. Jo, however, didn’t take Bette’s hand, she took her sunglasses. “Your daughter is waiting, as is mine,” gestured Jo to Spencer, who’d gotten there only a moment after Bette and Tina. Angelica was telling her of her grand adventure, one which Jo was sure wouldn’t be the last.
Bette had a million things she wanted to say, but Jo’s face told her to not say anything, to leave things this way. Talking, was sometimes, overrated. Jo slipped a hand into her jeans, walking passed Bette, who turned to watch her go. Stopping at Spencer, Angelica and Tina, Jo kissed Angelica again, and then said something to Tina, who looked at Bette and nodded. Bette’s eyes narrowed, wondering what in the world Jo was telling Tina. Before Bette could move, Jo swung and arm around Spencer’s waist and began to walk over to Spencer’s car, the same green Mustang that Jo and Bette had had their first date in.
Bette was unmoving; it was time to move on, wasn’t it? But it had been worth it to see Jo with Spencer, and for Jo to have saved Angelica from the clutches of what might have been mortal peril. The Mustang’s taillights disappeared from view, and finally Bette was able to set one foot in front of the other, just as Shane, Paige and Lara arrived for their reunion. Bette wondered idly where exactly this left all of them….

And you don’t think THIS is real fiction?!!!! You may think of this as practice, but I enjoy every word of your story, real fiction of not. So hurry up, I want to read some more! ;)
yes, you are killing me with your slow, torturous twists… but it is such an enjoyable demise! As for your practice, it certainly does make perfect. Can’t wait for your next post. I’ve got my seatbelt tightened for the bumpy ride!!
I’ve been checking every day this week for your update after your cruel and unusual cliffhanger last week. Was worth the wait! This story is great. That frikking frakking Gab is a piece of work. Can’t wait for next chapter’s “huge turn”. Thanks for writing! :D
I can never post right after reading coz I need to rest!!!!! It’s remarkable that you have better stuff than this that you save for your other fiction.Hmmm…Matching auras for those in love or who PROCLAIM (another hmmmm)to be in love? Angie could hear Jo and Spencer? That wasn’t Angie last adventure? Where the heck are you heading? You should consider rating your chapters to prepare the readers–something like–“TT” (lots of twists and turns), “TN” (the plot is so dense and so many chatacters appear that you should take notes), “DM” (death and mayhem ensue), and “ASS” (you have to be an IDIOT to think you know where this chapter is heading). As I read, I can feel the relentless tug of destiny and I think I should start feeling sorry for these flies caught in your web.
Gabe so needed taken down… Jo ROCKS!!! I do wish she’d forgive Bette though. I guess in time? But it’s been pretty much underlined that they aren’t ever going to be together again, so that’s that. I’ll let it go and move on, like Bette. I wonder about Angelica though… what was up with that? Girl got powers? Wedding bells… for whom? Noooooo, I don’t want for Quin to go back down that road… I hope she stops at the one. I really do. Loved it as always, JM. And Spumoni’s rating system… that was classic. Thanks for the post! Next one is soon-ish, yes? Cheers
Quinn fell off the wagon, why? Pretty please let her fall be temporary, JM. more Jo ’till…(Huh)? Since its plot oriented I won’t bitch. Shane should get her cut looked at. Gotta love how Angie was oblivious to the whole kidnapping thing, & her waving to cars passing bye was too cute. My favorite line though came surprisingly from Tina when she tells Bette, “You’re always going to have me, stop being melodramatic.”
Yes my Dear this is another WOW. If you write any better,my poor old heart couldn’t stand it. Angie is so smart. Jo is my hero. Bette knows it time to start living her life again. Lets talk about Quin, that is a No No. She will find the right woman,it just wasn’t Tina. Oh,before I go to bed Gabe is so low the sewer runs over him. The sorry sucker. Thanks have a nice Sunday thanks bvh
Great update. It’s got it all…action, suspense, romance, and little of the otherworldly, too. You rock!
This is the ONLY story I read that Bette isn’t with Tina. I do hope Jo and Bette can have a happy ending.
that was great can’t wait to see what will happen next please post soon
If this isn’t real fiction, then I don’t know what is. Like Bette, I too wonder where this leaves them all. So what’s up with Angie and her supernatural talents? So who will Bette move on to?
