    Chapter18.

I sat in my room brooding to myself. There was a knock on my door, I didn’t even bother saying anything. I knew who ever it was would just come up anyway, invitation or not.

    Trix?

I looked away, my attention drawn to the window all of a sudden. I didn’t even realise it was raining. I watched as the droplets ran down the glass, mixing with the steady drizzle which eventually fell from the window sill to the puddles on street below.

Millie moved from the door, shutting it quietly behind her and came to sit on the edge of my bed. Cautious not to get too close, incase she disturbed me further. Not that that wasn’t her intention in the first place. She might as well have stayed outside if she didn’t want to disturb me, but then again people never thought that far ahead. I looked away from the window and down to my hands which lay uselessly in my lap. I hated my mind, I didn’t mean the thoughts which came into it. I was angry, but not at Millie.

Im sorry. I said quietly, as if she had heard my thoughts.

    Hey, why are you sorry?

I sighed, splaying my fingers out on my thighs and shrugged. If I apologise then no one can be mad at me, I thought to myself.

    What upset you?

Nothing. I lied, balling my fists up again.

This doesn’t look like nothing, you know you can talk to me.

I looked up then, seeing Millie sitting on my bed seemed so weird, but in a good way. I offered a weak smile, getting a warm smile in return. I still couldn’t get over how beautiful she was, and the fact that she wanted to be with me just didn’t seem to gel. I had to get over my low self esteem, being with Millie seemed to push it to the back of my mind for a while. She was always so honest about her feelings and when she looked at me I felt like I was the only person in the room. It felt good but there was so little I knew about her, about her life. For all I knew she could of had a girlfriend back in LA, not that I believed that of course but it was always a possibility.
