Living in Italy for the past 8 years had been welcoming. The scenery, the people, and culture embraced them and they embraced them in return. The decision to move across the other side of the world initially was met with resistance initially however, after numerous discussions the move in retrospect was the best decision for them both. It provided a fresh start for them personally and professionally. Breaking the news to their close friends and family had been difficult of course they were sadden by them leaving but understood why. Professionally things begun to move at a rapid pace for them both. For, Lara after winning the popular Top Chef competition she was flooded with offers to head some of the most prestigious restaurants in the world only to turn them all down. Cooking was her passion, a passion she discovered at a very early age. The moment her first batch of brownies came out of her Easy Bake Oven when she was 10 years old she knew from that moment on she wanted to be a chef. As an adult, she spent her early years working behind the scenes always attending to someone else’s kitchen. She wanted more for herself and a kitchen to call her own. So, when she received a phone call from Mrs. Moltisanti the widow of the late great Chef Silvo Moltisanti offering her full creative control and ownership of his successful restaurant it had been a dream come true. Silvo Moltisanti after seeing Lara on Top Chef had continued to follow her career; after his death he shocked everyone when he left his restaurant to her in his will. He saw something in her that many chefs lacked in this day in age, passion and she had plenty of it. Although, he had never physically met her he knew both his legacy and vision would continue to live on through her. Eight years later, her restaurant was successful as ever and was frequently visited by celebrities such as Robert DeNiro, Meryl Streep, Celine Dion, and the big “O” herself Oprah Winfrey.

After winning two more tennis tournaments Dana tragically tore her ACL ending her career as a professional tennis player. Prior to her injury, Dana was ranked the number two womens player in the world right behind Serena Williams. Her entire life revolved around tennis and when she didn’t have that anymore she fell into a deep depression. Her career ending injury happened just 9 months shy of her being cancer free. In becoming a stand out star she was diagnosed with Ductal Carcinoma better known as breast cancer. Luckily, for Dana the cancer was discovered in its early stages and had not spread throughout her body. Seven years later she remained cancer free.
