    Changes…Wonderful Changes…Chap 3

The walk was just a few feet but for Dana it felt like an eternity. She gave herself a mental pep talk “Come on Fairbanks it’s just Alice even though you’re madly in love with her you have been dealing with this for years get your shit together!” Dana finally reached her destination. She taps Alice on the shoulder.

“Excuse me Miss can I help you with your bags.”

While turning around. “You dumb shit I…”

Alice was speechless! It was Dana it couldn’t be Dana no one was supposed to pick me up. God I didn’t want her to find out about the pregnancy this way, now she is gonna think I’m with someone. This so didn’t turn out the way I had planned.

Dana was just as speechless as Alice was…Is that a baby bump? Oh god I’m such a fool who was I to think this beautiful woman wouldn’t have met someone in New York. It must be pretty serious if a baby is involved. But why is she moving back, oh god this man or woman is coming with her. I was a total fool.

Alice noticed the sudden change in Dana’s face.

“What did you draw the short straw and had to come get me?”

“No no not at all! I wanted to surprise you and pick you up so you didn’t have to take a cab or something. No one knew I was coming well except Shane.”

    “Yoda strikes again?”

Both women share a laugh and are thinking the same thing “God I love her laugh and god how I have missed it.”

“Why don’t we go get my bags and get this show on the road?”

“Right of course how rude of me!”

The women walk down to the baggage claim and collect Alice’s bags.

“Here let me get those for you. It’s the least I can do, you had a long flight”

“Okay it’s your funeral they are heavy.”

The walk to the car and most the car ride was spent in awkward silence. Then Alice saw the exit for the trail that Dana loves to run and she had an idea. She definitely needed to talk to her alone before they met with the gang.
