Chapter 1

Its 9am L.A time and the usual group of women are sitting around their table at the Planet.

“Morning ladies”

“Morning Shane” said in almost unison by Bette and Tina

“I can’t believe Alice is coming back today.”

“Well Shane, she needed to go and she needs to come back it’s all a part of life and the growing process”

“I know Bette but she left so unexpectedly after her mom died”

“We all deal with grief in our own way Shane.”

“But T don’t you think she should have at least told Dana what she has done? Dana has been walking around here for weeks all excited and she has no clue and its going to tear her apart when she finds out.”

“As far as I’m concerned Shane that is Alice’s dirty laundry to air to Dana.”

“Bette that’s a little cold, I mean Dana is supposed to be her best friend.”

“Shane’s right babe.”

“Look I love Alice to death but she needs to handle it with Dana, she created that situation she needs to deal with it. I’m ecstatic she’s coming back cause we are her family now and always have been and I will stand by her with whatever she needs right now.

Dana walked up to the table and heard the tail end of the conversation.

“What’s wrong with Alice? Is she still having a hard time with her mom’s passing?”

The three other women look at each other frantically thinking of something to say.

“Dane you know she had a really hard time with that even though they weren’t that close.”

“I know Shane and I would be to, I’ll help her get out of her funk, I’m just glad she’s coming back.” What time does her plane come in?

Shane gives Dana a curious look, cause she is all too familiar with the feelings the athletes still has and always had for Alice.

“She told me noon.”

“Is anyone picking her up?”

All three women shake their heads no.

“She told Shane that she would meet us all here for dinner. Kit is going to close the Planet so it can be a personal affair.”

“Oh okay thanks Bette. Okay well I have to go I have some more…umm…training to do.”
