    Chandelier – 49

"I’ve shown you the upstairs, the downstairs, the front yard, the back yard, the pool, garage and my study," Tina said, leading Bette from one room to the other room in the main floor of their new home. "I’ve shown you the basement, too, which I think we can turn into a den, or a playroom, so that Angelica — or either of her mothers — won’t be afraid of the basement."

"That one time I didn’t want to go to a dark basement," Bette said in a petulant manner.

Tina laughed, and smiled, pointing to the room where they’d just been. "Well, you notice how that room and this one are on opposite ends of the living room, so that we both have views of the pool."

"Yeah," Bette nodded. "Good idea, by the way."

"Mm," Tina smiled, as she gave Bette a kiss for the compliment. "That’s going to be my study."

"I see," Bette nodded. "And this one?"

"This," Tina pushed the door open, proudly showing Bette the last room of the house for exploration, "is your study."

Bette frowned, and looked at Tina. "Yours is bigger."

"Well, yes, because mine doubles as storage."

    Bette loooked at her doubtfully.

"Trust me, you’ll thank me when you hear the muffled sounds of Led Zep coming from my study." Tina reassured her.

Bette turned back to her study, and stepped inside. She glanced around.

Tina pointed to the only content of the study. "That’s your moving in present."

Bette threw her a puzzled look, but opened the package anyway. She lifted the lid of the box, and couldn’t keep from gasping. "It’s–"

Whoever said Bette was good at hiding her emotions just wasn’t paying attention. Tina’s heart swelled with pride as she watched Bette practically orgasm as she beheld the Kiki Smith print.

    "How’d you get this?"

"Friend and her mother in high places."

"This must’ve cost you a fortune."

"I don’t get commission for the next couple of releases," Tina shrugged. "You like it?"

"I love it." Bette smiled at her. "Thank you."

    Tina smiled back.

"Could you come in here?" Bette asked, placing the print against the far wall.

    "Why?" Tina questioned.

"I think the study’s too small."

    1. TD, Yet again you put playfulness and delight into one of life’s most stressfull situations. I adore the way that both Helena then Alice and gang interrupted Bette and Tina’s initiation of their studies. Awesoome storytelling. Yip loved the 501 reference. WOnderful writing and entertainment from the start to the finish. Now when is is the wedding/recommittment… Can;t wait. Thank you for this true pleasure. 2. Congrats TD!!! You definately deserve it! I love this story. You made me laugh out loud at the comment about Bette when she opened the Kiki Smith print…you’re too funny! Cant wait for the next chapter!

    3. Congratulations on the award Tiff. Very well done. Love the story, hope you have more to go on it for a little while longer. I’m a werious TiBetter and just love to see “our girls” happy and in love and doing well.

    4. Poor Alice seems to be the tail end of everyone’s joke. I am glad that Bette and Tina’s scenic route brought them back to home. They are a little rough around the edges but that is what makes them so adorable. Loved the 501 jeans reference along with the press secretary reference. I hope that this is not the end but if it is I do hope that you will continue to bring us Bette, Tina, Angelica, and the rest of the gang stories to us.

    5. i hope this was not the last chapter. absolutely love this story and have to agree with azmama, i have the same pitter patter reaction. thanks so much for sharing this, congrats on the award and if this is indeed the end of the story, i hope u return with a new one. u havent written a b/t beginning have u?

    6. This might sound childish and inane but every time I see that you’ve posted a new chapter my heart goes pitter patter. You’re just that good. Yesterday I reread “Chandelier” from the beginning and it was pure joy. What a treat to have all the chapters in front of me and to be able to read them in sequence. And be able to enjoy them fully not in little segments. I hope you don’t stop writing this story for a good long time. I do enjoy your musical references and have often checked out the songs on iTunes.

    7. aww…i hope it’s not over yet…i love this story so much…congratulations on the award because you’re definately deserved it

    8. Ah, it sounds like you are wrapping this story up. I will miss it. I hope you have another in the pipeline. I know I say this all the time, but you are amazing.

    9. I love this story! I hope its not ever anytime soon. Oh, and what happened to long walk that was great too. Please continue for a long while.

    10. Hey, congratulations on the award, very well deserved. Anh you know, Ilove it when those Levi’s turn upin the most unexpected places. Great chapter mate.

    11. tiff, must all good things come to an end?? this piece of work, and all your other ones have been amazing. they have been such a source of comfort and delight. i really hope you have another story in the pipeline. i cannot imagine checking into the webpage and not finding any of your updates :)

    12. I don’t want this story to end. Any chance of keeping it going in a sequel? And I just realized something that has nothing to do with the story. No matter how many stories I read I always picture their house looking the same way (which, by the way, looks nothing like that on the show for some reason).

    13. Congratulations on your well deserved award. I have enjoyed reading all your stories. You move the plot along well with realistic dialogue and easy to imagine circumstances. Thanks for writing!

    14. Congratulation Tiff, well deserved indeed. Love this story and I must say I have the same thoughts about the house as Lamentamini. I truly hope this story will go on and on and on.

    15. congratulations on the award tiff. This story is amazing absolutly tender and full of love loved the quote of press secratary :) chandelier is one of the very few stories tht i have in my ipod for reading pleasure and its always a joy to reread it

    16. “How’d we get here?” Bette wondered. “Long drive. Scenic route.” hahah…. your story makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside… congrats on the award… Can’t wait for more!

    17. Cograts on the award…it is definately deserved. I’m glad that Bette likes the house because I was getting a little nervous, especially since she isn’t moving in until a week later. Did she sell her house…I think that it is important that she does, to prove to Tina that she is committed 100%.

    18. I’ve been very very bad about commenting. You write the most amazing stories. Whenever I see your name as an author I can’t wait to see what you have instore for us this time. Thanks for the writing.
