Chapter Seven


You guys before we eat, I just want to make a toast.

Uh, Bette, were really starving you know.

Nice, Al, but Im glad you guys continue in my life, and though Tina is not here,

She knew she hurt because Tina went to spend Thanksgiving somewhere else and no one wanted to tell her where, but when she mentioned Tinas name everyone noticed the sadness wash over her face.

Um Im thankful she is still a part of our lives. And I have a few surprises for you,

Cant it wait Bette, but we are starving so could you hurry it up?

The girls waited for that Im going to kill you look from Bette, but it never came. They were shocked at this; the old Bette would have killed you with just one look your way.


After dinner, Bette gave them each copies of her magazine.

Dana, I could be in a magazine to, they all laughed and it finally felt good to do so.

Baby sister, I am so proud of you, you know.

Me too Kit Kat. Using the name she used to when they were younger brought a bright smile to Kits face.

Wow Bette, could you talk about anything else besides Tina, and though she mentioned her name only once, in the article, somehow she was always referred to.

Guys, seriously though, I just wanted to take this time to apologize for doing what I did. I know most of my making up to is for her, but I know I let you guys down, and Im really sorry.

They could tell, she was having a hard time letting it come out, but they appreciated her taking the time to do so.

I have no excuses, only regret and I love you all more for loving her like you guys do. And if I do have the chance to pick us back up, please understand that I just cannot not try to be with her. She sat there not knowing how to feel because she wasnt used to them knowing how she really felt.

It was Kit who spoke first, Baby girl, we know you are broken and yes we wanted to kill you, but in the end we know you love her.

Yeah Bette, we know and though its not that easy, we will support the both of you in whatever may come.

After dinner they had all gathered around just relaxing and drinking wine. When Bette had taken a minute to get some air, everyone knew why she needed the break.

We agreed to not tell her right?

Yeah, Dane, we did and we have to stick to it. Besides its not our place to really say so.

But its kind of killing me inside to know that she is wondering where she is.

We know, but its just something she is just going to have to understand and come to accept even it she doesnt like it?

What if even we dont like it huh?




Tina though eating, thought of her family and their dinner.

Tina, are you ok, distracted by her voice,
Im good. But she knew she wasnt, No Im not, shes not here with me. I love her and not you, is all she could think when looking into her face.
