    Breathe Me * Chapter 25

    CHAPTER 25

The agent and the detective rang the bell a second time.  Bette took a step back and stared up at the second floor windows while Tina picked at the chipped paint on the porch rail,

"This looks like the house from Psycho," Tina whispered.

"I thought it looked like the Adams Family house?"

"It’s the same Goddamn thing.  Which ever house you choose it’s still freakin’ creepy."  Tina reached for the bell but froze when the door pulled open.

    Bette stepped forward almost instantly,

"Andre Wills, I’m Special Agent Elisabeth Porter with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and this is Sergeant Tina Kennard with the NYPD. We have some questions we’d like to ask you, it’ll just take a moment or two."

"Can I ask what this is in regards to?"

"It’s in regards to the disappearance of Katherine Murphy."

Andrew Wills was an awkward looking man.  Tall and thin, with short black hair and a lazy eye.  Even though he was thin, one could see the lean sinewy muscle beneath his skin.  He was slight but strong.  Tina stared at him as Bette spoke, looking for some sort of reaction, an expression of sadness or fear, anger or contempt.  But she saw nothing.  His eyes were cold and empty.

"Wasn’t that like eight years ago?"

Bette was annoyed by his dismissive tone, "More like ten years, actually."

"Huh.  Well, if it’s been ten years as you say why are you coming around asking questions now?"

Tina watched as Bette clenched and unclenched her fist.  She was pissed.  She knew Bette well enough at this point to know when the agent was irritated.  It looked as though it wouldn’t take much effort for the brunette to embrace the role of bad cop, she was already angry as hell.

"Actually, Mr. Wills, the investigation is all but closed.  Perhaps you saw the coverage on the news?"  Tina interjected.

Wills turned is stone cold gaze toward Tina as the blonde continued to speak,

"Agent Porter and I are actually here to just tie up some loose ends.  I swear, it will only take but a few minutes of your time and then we’ll leave you to your day."  Tina smiled, hoping her sickeningly sweet tone would be enough to at least get them through his front door.

    1. I seriously dont believe this…You shot Bette, the bad guy is on the run with Tina (hopefully) close …..and you end the chapter there. So not nice. We definitely need an update – please – soon.

    2. Somebody call for backup! I love this story. I had a bad feeling about this chapter, but I have another feeling you will make it all OK. Thanks for posting such a great story.

    3. HOLLY GOD!!!! please don’t let anything happened to them. Poter please don’t kill him, that will be too easy. He needs to suffer before he dies. Mooooore please. Can’t believe you stopped there lol, tease.PPVS

    4. Holy Shit Batman!!!!!!!. Surely Bette has called for backup and an ambulance.Hopefully she has called the station for Shane to go to Ellie’s house because if Tina doesn’t get him, that is where he is heading right now to possibly kill her next, especially since Bette told him that Ellie is afraid of him, the sniveling bastard. I just hope he doesn’t shoot Tina too. Bette should call Ellie back and tell her to get the Hell out of there before he gets to her house. Damn, this is terribly exciting. Bette will be okay, rightttt? Fantastic chapter. Thanks for posting everyday.

    5. So, it is now belived that Andrew killed Katherine, but he seems to be too frail to still be killing the women now, that was just found a week ago. Will keep reading, this is getting heavy. I hope that Bette is Ok and Tina gets that creep.
