I knew now that I was the one thing on her mind that she could not let go of, but how could I ever tell her that I didn’t want to be set free.

She was leaving for six months, and she was going to be together with that cheerleader. Oh, how my heart ached just thinking about it. Like she said, she loved Tina. She wanted to give them a fair shot at a relationship.

Although I didn’t want her to leave, she wanted to move on with her life.

So, maybe it was time for me to move on with mine.

What’s your favorite season? Mine’s Fall. Autumn. When the leaves are browning, the landscape fills with hues of orange, yellows and copper; tumbles of burnt sienna leaves. The melancholy of pieces falling apart in one beautiful disaster.

Tash met me for a walk on Sunday afternoon and it felt nice taking a languid weekend stroll with her by my side. When I told her about my confrontation with Bette, she simply nodded and listened intently. After I had finished my ranting, she turned to me and smiled, slipping her hand into mine.

    “Are you ok?” she asked.

I looked at her, and I knew she could read the pain through my gaze, “I’ll be alright,” I replied, “This isn’t the first time I had to deal with her leaving.”

“Have you considered just moving on with your life without her?”

If it was one thing I liked about Tash, it was that she always asked me questions that challenged my thoughts. It made me reevaluate my choices, something that I often needed help doing. I moved through life always following my heart, but Tash guided me with her stability and common sense.

“I don’t know what that would be like,” I managed to say, “She’s been my only friend for so long, my only confidante. The last time we had a falling out, we didn’t talk for three months, and that was really painful for me.”

“Yes,” she said, “But the difference is that, now, you have me.”

I laughed, looking at her as I pulled her close to me, placing a kiss on her cheek. Tash seemed to have this ability to make my loneliness disappear. She always reminded me that she was there, and I couldn’t be more grateful.

    1. It’s funny how Helena mention Murphy’s Law because it just jumped up and bit her in the ass. Helena moved from one mess to another….don’t she know not to get involed with a co-worker especially not your boss. Helena needs to get smart and fast. pps :)

    2. St lrase Bette and Helena are e=mailing and texting a bit. Tasha is such a gentle soul. Give her time. Helena needs to get her act together and not let her past take over her future.

    3. I peeked in on this story…b’c Squirl mentioned your ff in her comments. Initially, I thought..umm…interesting and unusual concept…she must have been watching SHO or Pretty woman…lol! So I started by reading this one with some hesitation…and I am so happy that I did…I have laughed, felt teary, screamed…but this chapter is one of those times that left me with my mouth agape……and then you bring in Kat…I knew it would be a hot mess!! lol! Helena..Bette…Helena…Tasha…insanely beautiful couples…but this love the one your with thing…I’m not sure it will work for either of the ladies. Someone mentioned that Bette is wrong for not being able to get over Helena’s past…but it is not just the past…I think it is also the betrayl and secrecy… I think her response was truthful…but it is something she will have to process personally…hopefully, she does that in Chicago…so she can stop playin’ and open herself to Helena! Ok, I’m caught up and I’m hooked…so please, please please post soon!!

    4. I think Helena will have to face this situations more often than she would wish. Kat was the first reminder of her past but if I think about Helena’s clients (high profile persons from the society)it will not be the last. It’s really hard for Helena. I hope Tasha will understand why Helena could not say a word. Please post soon I have to know how Helena and Tash work things through.

    5. Hello My Beautiful “Dragonfly” … haha… I can’t believe I got that confused last time… so yeah good chatting… and yeah soon… ewwwwwwwwwwwww I so knew that her past was going to come and bite her in the bum… so Helena I think its time to come clean… and just be honest… yes you risk losing another woman/friend/lover… but in the end you will feel that weight lifted… and then no one will have power over you… at one point Helena had complete power… now she has none she needs to re-evaluate her life and make things more in her favor and sometimes it takes a plunge to do just that… this is awesome… so ummmm… in two months how many unread and deleted txt messages were there… hmmmmm… wonder what Bette is thinking… I’m sure its only of Helena the one she let get away… and ummmmm this turn of events and the potential for blackmail might just lead Helena down a familiar path… only this time she will have Zero control… that is a scary thought… keep on rocking and rolling my amazing friend… love and hugs, JC (Latin Nephew to those Salsa Angels)

    6. I loved this story! Your past has a way of creeping back up on you. Even though Tasha found out the wrong way. I do believe she will cope with it a lot better than Bette did. She just need her space for a bit. Now is the time for Helena to come clean and not get depress and return to that life again. She’s a better person then that and a lot stronger then she thinks. Excellent update! Enjoy your weekend!

    7. Oh Crud! My girl just can’t seem to get a break! Darn pasts… They should stay where they belong. Poor thing! But, I guess she will have to go thru this, since her clients were high profile ones. What’s happening on Bette’s end? She’s gotta be wondering why Helena hasn’t returned any of her messages. Is she and Tina working out? I hope the h*ll not. I am dying to see how these two find their way back to each other. But, first, how are we going to deal with Miss Rothberg? Shall I call Pest Control? Gosh, I have so many questions! i’ll just try and be patient and kindly wait until your next post, which I hope will be soon. =) Great update! Talk about DRAMA! My goodness!

    8. OMG eunichick what are you thinking, you better get under that table, you just can’t keep kicking a person to the curb, I see the highs are good but the lows could twist a person up pretty bad, can we get JC over here to a life coach or something. Don’t know if I can last the weekend but will for you. Good job, Thank you, Md

    9. oh damnnnnn, why are you tormenting me…in, Helena like that, she’s learned, really she’s learned…cut a sistah some slack, please fix it with somebody other than that Kat-woman…LOVED the update…you’re doing a great job with this story…Cheers

    10. OH..Euni…did I ever doubt you could pull it off…NEVER…Shoo…I am finding myself in a weird place…Come on Helena and Bette…don’t let the past ruin your future…lovely post girl..and hope you got my Mail….I blocked myself form the site..intelligent I know..so Im back…and cant wiat for more!PPS
