    Author Notes:

    Shane comes for a visit and brings some stuff from home.

    Bette said “Thank you. Now come here so that I can give you a hug”.

    Shane approached the bed and wasn’t sure what angle to go in for a hug or what parts of Bette she could touch. Bette looked thin and fragile and was really beat up and bruised. Shane tried not to look shocked, but her disguise did not work.

    Bette frowned and said “Do I look really bad?”

    Tina jumped in and said “No you don’t. Baby you look great. You are doing so much better then you were just two days ago. You are making amazing strides. You look good Bette, really good baby”.

    Tina was holding Bette’s hand and pulled her head toward her stomach for a hug and was both cradling Bette’s head and stroking the sides of it. She wanted to show Shane that though Bette looked frail and beat up that she could touch her. Shane shook herself out of it and got the message, she leaned over the hospital bed edge and kissed Bette’s forehead and tousled the top of her hair. She then picked up her free hand and gave it a squeeze and held it.

    Shane said “Bette, you want to see what I brought you? You want to see what Kit sent?”

    Bette was enjoying the warmth of Tina’s touch and the affection felt good, it moved her away from the insecurities that she was starting to feel about what she must look like to others right now. It must be awful. Bette started to furrow her brows in deep thought and Tina took notice.

    Tina said “ Baby? Baby? You want some goodies now?”

    Tina lifted Bette’s chin to make eye contact with Bette. Bette looked directly in her eyes and Tina mouthed I LOVE YOU. Bette nodded. This was not unnoticed by Shane. Tina hit Shane on the shoulder and pointed over the box. They both got up and started to unpack it and lay stuff on the table in the room. After a few minutes when the contents were emptied, Tina thanked Shane for bringing the box and helping.

    Shane said “I think I am going to take off. Bette you look like you are going to nod off”.

    1. Sorry to hear you are still sick. Thank you for continuing to write – i know when i was sick my brain felt foggy. Another wonderful chapter – I love this Tina. She is so strong for the both of them and is saying all the right things. I hope you feel better.

    6. Sorry to hear you’re still under the weather. Hope you get to feeling much better soon! Thank you for updating the story eventhough you’re under the weather. Bette is so insecure right now, but it is so exciting to see how alpha Tina is right now. She’s the rock that Bette will need during the coming weeks of recovery. I predict Bette will lash out at every therapist they will have working with her, but it will be Tina who stands up to Bette and challenges her during her therapy. So realistic was Shane’s reaction to Bette’s appearance. Patiently waiting for the next update. Thanks again!!!

    8. So glad that Bette gets to see the real Tina. Tina is Bette roch always has been and Nette was to busy in her life to realize it. Shane is such a friend, they are few a far between. Hope you feel better soon. that stuff is hard to get rid of. thanks
