Vanessa arrives.

Tina was waiting at the airport to pick up Vanessa. Bette was still at the gallery, she wanted Tina and Van to spend some time alone, before she got home. Tina was lost in thought and memories of all the times her and Van had had.

They met the first day of college and were dorm mates and instant friends. Their friendship continued on to med school and now. Vanessa was a family practice doctor in Chicago.

Vans family loved Tina and Maggie and Erin loved Van. Vanessa was from a typical Italian family, they always were loud, opinionated and they always had loads of food. Tina was laughing out loud at a particular memory when she heard her.

Vanessa: ***** Kennard am I that funny looking?
Tina: stood up and looked at her friend. Oh Van you look great, its so good to have you here.
Vanessa: You look wonderful TK, you have a glow, you look so happy.
Tina: Thanks, and I am. Im so happy.
They hugged each other tightly.
Tina: Lets go, its really good see you.
Vanessa: You too. Ive missed you.

They got Vans bags and went to Tinas SUV.
Tina: So what do you want to do tonight?
Vanessa: Well lets just eat, drink, and talk, catch up. Ill cook.
Tina: No youre not cooking, well get something or Ill cook.
Vanessa: No I want to, to thank you for letting me stay with you, and you know how you love my manicotti.

Tina: Oh yeah, I do. Okay. Were going to have so much fun, youll love my friends. But look out they will probably hit on you.
Vanessa: Are they women?
Tina: Yes, but theyre cute. Laughing.
Vanessa: So tell me about Bette, is she cute.

Tina: laughing. Id never describe Bette as cute. She has some mannerisms that are cute, but physically well youll see when you meet her. Shes tall, dark and very *****, very beautiful. Dark hair and eyes.

Vanessa: ***** Tina you just described me. Im flattered.
Tina: laughing. Well shes not Italian, shes biracial. Shes a Yale graduate with an art history degree and a minor in English lit.. Shes very smart, beautiful, kind, loving, opinionated, driven, a definite type A personality.

Vanessa: Look at you; you absolutely beam when you talk about her. She must be something.
Tina: She is Van, she is.
Vanessa: So hows the *****?
Tina: laughing. Cut to the chase dont you Marconi. But if you have to know, its the best Ive ever had. Unfucking believable. So good.
Vanessa: laughed. You *****.
Tina: Takes one to know one. Sticking her tongue out at her.

Tinas phone rang. It was Bette.
Tina: Hey baby.
Bette: Hi sweetie are you still at the airport?
Tina: No were on our way home; were going to stop at the grocery, then home.
Bette: Great, you want me to pick up some dinner?
Tina: No Vans cooking.
Bette: But shes our guest.
Tina: I know. I told her, but its her way of paying us for staying with us, and she does make the best manicotti Ive ever tasted. And you love manicotti. How about you pick up some wine, beer and tequila.

Bette: Are you planning on reliving your college days? I want good stories, tell Vanessa I want details.
Tina: laughing. Ill get drunk and let you take advantage of me. Okay?
Vanessa was making a gagging sound and sticking her finger in her mouth.
Bette: I take on that responsibility. Ill go now, see you in awhile. Love you.
Tina: Bye, love you.

They got to the house and Tina showed Vanessa around. She saw pictures of Tina and Bette. They made a great couple and Vanessa had never seen Tina so happy.

Tina took her in the kitchen and let her take over. Tina watched her and opened them a bottle of wine. They were reminiscing and laughing having so much fun.

Bette was on the way home. She was a little nervous meeting Vanessa. This person knew more about Tina than she did and maybe she felt a little bit jealous, but if Tina loved Vanessa, then she must be a good person.

Bette walked in the door of her home to hear laughter.
Bette: T, Im home.
Tina ran in and hugged her, kissing her deeply.
Tina: Hey babe, how was your day?
Bette: Good, sounds like yours is going good too.
Tina: Yeah, come on and meet Vanessa.

Tina led Bette to the kitchen. Bette saw Vanessa preparing dinner. She was very pretty, very confident. Bette guessed her to be about 57, long dark hair pulled back in a sloppy ponytail. She looked more Latin than Italian, big dark eyes, full lips and very *****. She kind of looked like Eva Mendes. (Oh god, look out Alice, Shane and Dana were going to drool.)

She was wearing jeans and a t-shirt, barefoot, and an apron. It was Tinas apron Bette had gotten her at sometime, it said Kiss the Cook.

Tina: Hey Van come around here. Bette this is Vanessa, Dr. Vanessa Marconi. Van this is Bette, Bette Porter.
Bette offered her hand; Vanessa shook it and then pulled her in for a hug. Vanessa stepped back and gave Bette the once over.

Vanessa: WOW! Tina I can see why you switched teams. Youre gorgeous.
Bette blushed.
Bette: Thank you, so are you, Tina showed me pictures but they did not do you justice.
Tina: Ok Van, back off, youre straight remember.
Vanessa: So were you until you met Ms. Porter. Maybe she has a mind control thing and turns straight doctors into lesbians. Laughing.
Bette: laughed. I only need one doctor and shes right here. She pulled Tina to her and kissed her. But T you better keep her away from the gang, they will eat her up.

Vanessa: Come on in her and keep me company while I finish dinner.
Bette: Im going to change first, Ill be right back.

In the kitchen.
Tina: lifting a lid on a pot. This smells great. Then she pours them all a glass of wine.

Vanessa: Jesus TK, shes beautiful.
Tina: I told you she was.
Vanessa: Yeah, but I thought love had clouded your mind. Shes so hot she would give a dead man or woman a hard on. And shes so self assured and proud.
Tina: Van, jeez.I know thats what first attracted me to her. Dont tell anyone but shes really very shy and soft with me.

Tina: So Van tell me hows your love life? Is Steve still around.
Vanessa: No, its over. We were okay for a while but nothing was progressing, just hours of good ***** with no feelings.

Bette walked in and sat by Tina at the bar.
Bette: ***** with no feelings?
Vanessa: You know, got to get off once in awhile, but nothing serious.
Tina: Van you have always had one or two men around.
Vanessa: To busy these days and I guess Im ready to find the one. Im not getting any younger, and my family is driving me nuts about having babies.
Tina; how are your mom and dad? Brothers?

Vanessa: Good, they are all good. Okay set the table. Dinner is ready.
