    Bette’s Dilemma-Stirred but Not Shaken

Tears sprung to Tina’s eyes as she looked at her baby and the woman that she knew she loved and always had. "Fuck you Kate! I won’t believe you until I have proof." she responded as she took off her coat and hung it on the peg inside the door. Her actions caught Angelica’s eye and the little girl broke into a chorus of happy "Momma, momma, home!" Wiping the remnants of tears from her eyes Tina walked toward her daughter and scooped her into her arms. Glad to be held so closely Angelica snuggled closer and kissed Tina on the lips. Tina felt her daughter’s unconditional love begin to ground her again. "Why thank you baby. Here’s one for my Angel too" she said as she returned the kiss.

As Bette left yet another message for Monique, Angelica’s greeting finally fully alerted Bette to Tina’s arrival home. Hanging up her cell phone Bette turned and placed it on the kitchen counter as she called from the kitchen, "I’m in here T. How was your day?" When there was no answer Bette felt her heart leap in her chest. Damn it! Porter, she could probably feel the kill or be killed vibes from a block away! What the hell am I supposed to do now? It’s how I feel. There was no use standing here like a fool in the kitchen she decided and headed for the living room. Suddenly Tina appeared inches away from her in the doorway, her eyes speaking volumes.

"Angelica looks like she weathered her meeting with the bee alright since she is enjoying Bob the Bee so much" Tina spoke her voice trembling.

Bette heard T’s words but looking into Tina’s eyes she knew they were mere casual conversation, Tina’s eyes told her that her day had been a least as bad as Bette’s perhaps worse although Bette was not sure how. Standing for several seconds to allow Tina the dignity she deserved to collect herself Bette finally walked slowly to the blond and put her arms around her to pull her close. To her surprise Tina’s response was not to relax but stiffen. Fear leapt to Bette’s throat instantly. Pulling back Bette looked into the hazel eyes that met hers.
