Bettes day was actually going better than she had expected. She was a little apprehensive about talking with Tina later, but was hoping that maybe they could finally get some things out in the open so they could move forward, hopefully together. Her anger had somewhat subsided and she was feeling bad for treating Tina the way that she had. She deeply regretted the harsh words she had spoken. There just seemed to be so much pain and anger between the two of them now. But she was going to put forth her best effort to put her pain aside. She was going to do everything in her power to show Tina how sorry she was, how much she loved her and how much she wanted another chance for a life together. She promised herself that she would be open and honest with Tina, not her usual withholding self, and that she would keep her anger in check. Everything was looking up, that is until the arrogant Helena Peabody strutted into her office. She could not believe the impudence of this woman.

Hel: (not bothering to knock, just barging right in) Well, hello Bette. I just wanted to stop by and make sure there were no hard feelings after last night. I know how difficult it must be to see your ex move on. How long has it been since you were unfaithful to Tina? Oh, thats right, I recall Tina saying it has been about two months since she left you. For the life of me, I cannot imagine why you would have wanted someone else. Tina is such a wonderful woman and she is especially glowing with her pregnancy.

Bette is livid. She can not believe the audacity of this woman to come into her office and speak to her this way about her wife. She knew Helena wanted to get a reaction out of her and she would be damned if she would allow that to happen.

Bette: Helena, is there something regarding the CAC that I may assist you with.

Hel: Oh, heavens no Bette. Ive already taken care of those matters with Franklin. He was more than capable of taking care of everything I needed.

Bette was seething. God, how she hated this woman. Bette could see right through Helenas bullshit. She knew this woman was on a mission. She didnt know, quite yet, exactly why Helena had it in for her, but she knew damn well that nothing good was going to come out of this woman. This woman was a conniving, predatorial ***** who obviously had set her sights on Tina.

Bette: Well Helena, as much as I would love to continue our little talk, I have a number of things I need to finish up so I can get home on time. Tina and I have made plans for the evening and I wouldnt want to keep her waiting.

Hel: Well, I will be sure to let her know you plan to be on time when I meet up with her later. I will try not to tire her out, completely.

Helena turned and left Bettes office as Bettes anger began to boil and jealousy began to rouse. What the ***** was going on between Tina and Helena? She couldnt believe that Tina would make plans with her. Flashbacks of the previous night began playing through her mind. The gestures between the two, the way they held each other as they danced. Tinas words pounding in her head what makes you think Helena is not wanted the look Tina gave Bette. And they obviously shared quite the conversation as Helena seemed to know all the gory details of their personal relationship. Bettes rage was once again in full motion. Suddenly her day of promise and hope and been completely overtaken by doubt and insecurity. The sound of Bettes phone brought her back from her thoughts. She looked over at the clock and could not believe the time. Thanks to Helenas display of egotism she had lost track of over two hours. She reached down and picked up the phone.

Bette: Bette Porter

Tina: Hey Bette. I just wanted to check and make sure you were okay. I talked with Helena and she said that she had been by your office. I just wanted to make sure she didnt upset you and that you were still planning on coming home so we could talk.


Bette: So you did have plans to meet with her today?

Tina: What are you talking about Bette?

Bette: Helena, she said that she was going to meet up with you today. You didnt think I needed to be privy to such information. Whats going on with you Tina? You wanting to check out your options before we talk?

Tina: Bette, please dont start this again. I did not have plans with Helena today. She showed up at the center and we talked briefly. She mentioned going to see you and I just wanted to make sure she didnt get you all worked up again. Its like the two of you are in some God damn pissing contest.

Bette: Now why would I get upset from something Helena would say to me unless there is another secret that she is aware of and you are afraid she let it slip? Is that what this is all about Tina? Are you afraid your wife and your girlfriend might compare notes and find out that you are playing us both?

Tina: Bette you are being ridiculous. There is nothing going on between Helena and I. For Gods sake I hardly know the woman.

Bette: Well, that is certainly not the impression that you have given Helena as she seems to think the two of you are quite the item. And by the looks of what I saw last night

Tina cuts into Bettes conversation.

Tina: Bette please, lets just wait and talk about this tonight.

Bette: I dont know if Ill get home early enough. Due to Ms. Peabodys uninvited appearance I am running behind and need to get caught up on some things. Besides, I am sure your activities with Helena this afternoon must have you exhausted, even though she said she would try not to tire you out.

Tina: Look Bette, I dont know what is going on between you and Helena, but I assure you that I have not spent the afternoon partaking in activities with her.

Tina is beginning to get frustrated with Bette.

Tina: Just get your ***** home tonight Bette, so we can decide where we go from here.

Tina slams down the phone, wondering whether Bette will show or not.
