Tina and Jill were pacing back and forth in front of the large conference room.
Jill: Tina please lets try to relax.
Tina: I know Jill but I can’t, we worked to hard on this project to get turned down. Jill you don’t suppose they just think of it as another “Reality” program…That would just ***** suck.
Jill: Tina no these people are good people, they will do the right thing. I hope so Jill. I hate waiting.

Just then the door opens. Please ladies come in

Chairman: Well we read and re-read all of the material .Wow you ladies put a lot of work and effort into this project.

Tina: Thinking to herself… Here it comes…They hate it

Chairman: And by a unanimous vote we all agreed to grant you a pilot episode —– A 2-hour special to see how it goes with an option for 5 more specials, through out the year.

Tina and Jill jumped for joy…Oh My God…Thank You…Thank You all …we promise to give this project 110%

Chairman: We are counting on that…we all know that you 2 ladies are a big part of the future of this company and we all want you in our future

Jill: Thank you Mr. Williams you will not be disappointed

Tina: Yes sir you can count on that and on us.

All gather their things and leave the conference room.

Tina and Jill back in their office.

Jill: See Tina I told you they were great guys

Tina: Plus it also helped that we did that background check on Mr. Williams. Man it was right on the money

Jill: Yeah What made you do that?

Tina: I think we just got lucky with that decision. (Thinking to herself…That’s my Bette. She is always telling me to cover all the bases and they won’t come back and bite you in the *****. And I can’t believe it the first time I actually do a background check on someone it worked in my favor. Mr. Williams was a child of the system for years. Waiting for a family to give him a chance and take him in and hopefully adopt him. Finally a family did and he grew up to be a successful businessman. And today he has his own children and also an adopted son. He is always on the bandwagon to help needy children.)

Jill: Hey Tina where did you just go?

Tina: Sorry Jill I was just thinking

Jill: No Tina no thinking tonight…for tonight we celebrate…Monday we start thinking

Tina: Your right—–But Jill I can only stay and have 1 drink

Jill: No problem Tina…1 drink is my limit …besides I have to pick up the baby at daycare and Jim and I are going to see my parents this weekend.

Tina: Jill give me a minute. I have to call Bette. Dialing goes right to voice mail…Hey babe…It was a great day…have great news…can’t wait to see you home later—-LOVE YOU

Mean while at the CAC.

Franklin: Please come in Ms. Porter

Bette walks into the conference room and takes a seat.

Franklin: Well Ms. Porter first I must say that we had one ***** of a time choosing between you and Ms. Woods…You both put a lot of effort into the Spring Exhibit…and believe me if there was a way we would have both shows together and you and Ms woods working side by side here at the CAC…But you know that can not happen

Bette thinking to herself…oh well I guess they choose Dori over me…I just wish he would say it and let me get the ***** out of here…I will not stay and watch her gloat….

Franklin: Well Ms. Porter after reviewing all of your credentials—-And I must say that they are very impressive —–Working in New York, London and Paris. We would like to add California to your list. As I am prepared to offer you a 3-year contract with options for 3 + 3 more year options—–Full benefits—-At your requested salary.

Bette: (Very excited… Oh My God…they picked me…) Thank you Franklin. I accept your offer and I look forward to working with all of you.

Franklin: we know we made the right decision Ms. Porter…we have noticed when you look at art…you actually fall in love with it…we also know its more then just a job for you…and we also love the way you interact with the customers…like I said its more then just a job…you live for it…its in your blood…you truly enjoy your work…So take the next 2 weeks off with pay and have a vacation…rest and relax…because you have a show to put together when you get back.

Bette: Thank you…Thank You all I promise you I will give it my all…I do truly love art and your right its in my blood…

All the board members get up and start shaking hands and they are all very happy with their decision. All are leaving the conference room and Bette is on her way out. Reaching for her cell phone.

Bette: I can’t wait to tell Tina. Oh my God this is so incredible, like a dream come true. I can’t believe they picked me over Dori…Oh My God…I feel sorry for her…she is also very good at this job…

Just then Dori comes walking out of her office….

Dori: Congratulations…Bette…I really mean it…you will breath new life into this little stuffy museum… and I look forward to an invitation to the Spring Exhibit

Bette: Thank you Dori…and I am sorry that they just had to choose one of us…I do believe together we could have conquered the art world

Dori: well maybe some of that is true Bette…but you and I both know we would have killed each other first…

Bette: Smiling… your probably right…do you know where you will go

Dori: Well I always wanted to try New York…or Paris…but now I am going to take a vacation…but I will be here for your opening

Bette: I wish you all of the happiness …and you will be first on the list to receive an invitation…Walking back into her office and taking out her cell phone as she grabs her Bag and jacket…Looking at her phone she sees a message from Tina…and listens to it…Wow Tina has good news also. I bet they went for her script.

Getting into her car and just starring at her phone Ok my love…My news will wait until Monday. This will be your weekend baby…I have 2 weeks before I start soooooo ONE celebration at a time
Calling Tina on her cell…right to voice mail…hey baby…got your message…so tonight we celebrate…Ill meet you home early…so its up to you to say if we are going out or staying home…I will do what ever you want to do baby…I love you…see you soon…

Stopping at the liquor store…picking up a special bottle of Dom Perium Champagne…plus Tina’s favorite wine…on to the florist…walking past a Jewelry store…just window shopping…now thats a ring…as she goes in …just picturing the look on Tina’s face when I slip this baby on her finger…

Woman behind counter: May I help you…

Bette: Oh Im just looking…it is a beautiful ring

Woman: You have excellent taste…I also love the Marques diamond…and this particular one is 2.2 carrots…or we do have it in a 1 carrot and even 1/2 carrot

Bette: No if I do decide it will be one at least this size…believe me she is worth it

Woman: She is a very lucky woman

Bette: No I am the lucky one…thank you…I will be back …real soon… real soon

Woman: I will be here…have a good night and weekend…

As Bette was leaving…her mind was going a mile a minute…should I have the ring first or should I ask her and then get the ring…no I should have the ring…walking back into the Jewelry store

Woman: Was there something else I could help you with

Bette: Yes there is…that diamond I want it …show me what you have in settings…I want it to stand out…and I will want the wedding band to go around it…all in Marquees diamonds…all sizes all around

Woman: I know exactly what you want…reaching under the counter and pulling out a box…and in there was it…the most beautiful ring and wedding band with 22 diamonds all around and the BIG one right in the middle…

Bette was speechless…oh my God…thats it…yes…

Woman all I need is her ring size….

Bette: How long till its ready

Woman: How soon can you give me her ring size…

Bette: Right now…size 6 and 1/2

Woman: How about Monday afternoon…

Bette: Perfect…taking out her credit card

Woman: Don’t you want to know the price

Bette: NoNot really… I want that ring…

Woman: Smiling…don’t worry I will give you a great deal on this…

Bette: Oh Im not worried…like I said Tina is worth it

Bette: No …Im sorry…as she gives her all of the information…

Bette was very happy with her self…she had no doubt that Tina would say yes…and with her new job secured for the next 3 years and 3 + 3 years after that…yes life was good…and now Tina getting in with her scripts…we need to look for a house…yes we do…with a big Master bedroom and 3 other bedrooms…we need an office

As Bette stops in her tracks….OMG…here Im thinking about a family…why else would I want a house with at least 2 extra bedrooms…we never really talked about kids…oh but Im sure Tina wants them…with her blond hair and her eyes our children would be beautiful…God so much is happening this weekend…I hope I can last till next week to ask her ….

Driving home…her cell rings…looking…its Tina

Bette: Hello beautiful….

Tina: Hi babe…are you on your way home…

Bette: As a matter of fact I am…are you there already

Tina: No soon…Jill and I stopped for a quick drink…and now I am on my way

Bette: ok I’m almost home so have you decided what we are doing tonight

Tina: Oh yeah I decided…tell you in a little bit

Bette: ok Baby drive safe…see you soon

Tina getting into her car…oh babe I decided all right…first we have to make love before I explode…after I tell her my news that is…then I think since it’s Friday night and we have not done a Friday with the girls in a while I think we should go out with them…looks like drinks will be on me tonight… I wonder if Bette found out about her job…she would have said something…God I hope she gets it…you know here Im waiting for her to ask me to marry her…I just may pop the question myself…too bad it’s too late to pass by the Jewelry store…I would love to see the look on her face as I put a diamond engagement ring on her finger…and it would have to be at least 2 carrots…she deserves nothing but the best…ok… note to self…next week go shopping for a ring for my lover…pulling into the apartment building…Bette’s car is already there….Tina could feel the heat… her insides were already throbbing…she wanted…no she needed Bette
