I Hate You Then I Love You

Bette was sitting in her sofa, thinking about what had happened the last few months. Bette had broken up with Tina, again, and they had decided it was for the best to now really just stay friends. They had now 2 kids to consider, Angelica (who is now 5) and their new son, Manu (2 years). The adoption hadn’t worked out and Bette had carried Manu. After the boy was born Tina and Bette had lived happy for over a year but then everything went wrong. Tina had told Bette she was in love with someone else and that she couldn’t keep living with her. That was now one year ago. Tina had a new partner, Temperance. She had met Temperance in Angelica’s school and soon they became good friends, they stated hanging out and after a while Tina and Temperance developed feelings for one another. They had told each other that but they had never even kissed before Tina had told Bette she wanted to be with someone else. Bette and Tina had broken up but they didn’t hate each other. Bette and Tina were still friends. They told each other everything and had fun nights with their family and friends.

After the break-up Bette was a mess, of course, but with the help of her friends she survived. She stopped drinking and smoking and became healthy again.

But now Bette had to keep a secret. She had become very close with Helena and she didn’t know who to tell this. Helena had been there the most when Tina had left her and they had become Best Friends but Bette had deeper feelings towards the Brit and she didn’t know what to do about it. She needed to tell someone. Tina? No. Alice? No. Kit? Yes.

Bette stood up, took her coat and walked to her car. She didn’t have the kids today. She stepped in her car and drove to The Planet. Kit was probably closing the café. She arrived, stepped out and walked in.

Bette: Kit?!

Kit walked out of her office.

Kit: Baby-sis? What’s up?

She walked to Bette and they hugged.

Bette: I need to talk to you about something. Do you have time?
