Before I fall in love (4/10) – a Bette and Helena story

Were going to kick some major ass, arent we? Bette joked, confident of Nelles ability to do her magic. Feeling much better about life already, she made a mental note to thank Helena at Jennys book launch this evening.

I just cant believe that our Jenny is a real author now! Alice exclaimed.

Bette added, Ive read her book, its actually not bad.

Whoa, this coming from the future dean of LA College of the Arts, does it get any better?  Jenny should be honored. Oh speaking of your new job, when are you going to start work? Alice was curious.

Im due to start in a months time, after my trip to NY Bette was cut off by the vociferous introductions of the guest performers – the band Betty, who started by playing a carnival remix of the L-word theme.

I’ve waited all my life to cross this line, to the only thing thats true Ryan Cabreras soothing voice wafted across the room while the girls chilled out after the performance.

Look Robin, I think that hottie in the corner is checking you out! Why dont you go up to her? Helena pointed out, making eye contact with the spunky brunette with spiky hair and a very large cleavage.

But Robin was at a loss of words to say.

Shane suggested helpfully, Forget those pick up lines. Try, ‘How do you find the music here?’ instead. Normally works.

Its such a complete waste of time. I rather go by the…. ‘I see; I like, and I conquer’ theory. Just go ahead and ask her whether she wants to sleep with you. Bette was in a euphoric mood, and she had the alcohol-induced opinion that she could conquer the world at this moment.

Helena grinned, and replied in fake disdain, Huh? Is that how you get your girls?

Why, yes, thats normally the case. Bette smirked, locking eyes with the Brit.

The sexual tension between the two ladies was so intense that they could feel their hearts racing. Helena was not aware of it, but when she looked into Bettes brown orbs – for that instant, she looked into Bettes soul. She saw someone so tough, but so vulnerable. Someone whom Helena ached to protect with all of her heart, yet made her to feel so warm and safe just being in her strong presence.

She moved in for the kiss hesitatingly.

Hey guys, since were all here, bogged down by our own problems, let me raise a proposition. Why dont we take a trip to Hawaii? Jenny asked abruptly, raising a glass of champagne, densely unaware of what she had interrupted.

The rambunctious reply of everyone can be heard, Thats great! Lets go!
