Chapter 32
Dana was so engrossed in studying video footage of other players that her coaches had given her, she didn’t even realize she had guest in her house until Alice plopped down on her couch.
“Oh jeeze,” Dana exclaimed putting her hand over her heart. “Al, you scared the hell out of me.”
“I made enough noise coming in… and you say I am a zombie when I watch tv,” Alice replied taking the throw from over the top of the coach and wrapping herself up. “Ahh, much better,” she sigh contently. Spying her friend’s questioning look she said, “Oh, don’t let me interrupt.”
Grabbing the remote, Dana rewound the tape to right before Alice appeared and paused it. Turning to face her friend she asked, “I thought you were going out to dinner with your family? Didn’t your mom get in town this afternoon?”
“Oh, not only did she get in town—she has decide to stay with me this weekend. With me… at my apartment… a girl can only take so much.”
“So dinner didn’t go well,” Dana questioned with a frown?
“No it went fine until Lenore decided that she wanted to go to a few clubs and see what the ‘scene’ is like in West Hollywood,” the soon to be college grad replied with air quotes. “I am so not going there.”
“Hence the hiding?”
“Hence the hiding,” Alice confirmed with a quick nod before putting her head on Dana’s shoulder, as Mr. Piddles made an appearance to sit on Alice’s lap. “So as I said earlier don’t let me interrupt.”

Yay thanks for posting so fast. Mr P appearance made me smile it been a while since he made one in a story. Loved how comfort and in tune the girls were with each other, and how they made the most of whatever little time they together. Thanks A
I’m so glad to read another post! Such a cute moment between Dana and Alice before damn Shane had to interrupt… Can’t wait to read more. Thanks!
i love the normalness of them just sitting watching tv and talking. great scene. so is dana going to take the life is too short advice and seize the day with alice? :)
Another excellent chapter, anionayo!! Love the comfort Dana and Alice have with each other and how they can spend so much time together without feeling smothered. Poor Alice with Lenore. What a handful. Irwin’s advice was really good. I also like that he was trying to make sure Dana wasn’t feeling pressured. I look forward to your next post and finding out more about how Dana handles this new phase of her life – hopefully with Alice still by her side. Thanks so much!!
this story is great!
Irwin was right, life is short therefore we should try our beast to live life to the fullest…And I hope what would make Dana happy is to be spend the rest of her life with Alice…Thanks and pps!
life is too short, hopefully Dana will keep this in mind next time her and Alice have a moment and just go for the kiss instead of worrying about the consequences of it. Great post!
