    Angels Never Came Down 4

    Previously:

“Of course T. Anything you need.” Bette smiled wanly.

“Thanks Bette. I knew I could count on you.” Tina
gave Bette a one-armed hug and a quick kiss on the cheek. “You know,
you really ought to find yourself a nice woman. You’re such a catch!
Gorgeous, smart, sexy, warm… gosh Bette, if you were a man, I’d be on
you in a heartbeat. Well come on. Let’s go to the kitchen.”

Bette continued smiling, trying not to crack into a
million tortured pieces. She stood up gingerly and followed Tina out of
    the bedroom.
    ________

”Bette, why don’t you have a girlfriend?”

        ”Hm. That’s a very interesting question…”

Bette and Tina sat side by side on the couch, their
feet propped up on the low coffee table, munching on a bagel that
they’d cut in half. They were slouched so low that they were virtually
lying down. Their arms touched from the shoulder to the elbow and each
move Tina made to raise the bagel to her mouth secretly thrilled Bette.
She could feel Tina’s smooth skin rub subtly against hers and
concentrated very hard on keeping her mind on their conversation.

”Why don’t I have a girlfriend? How do you know I
don’t have a secret lover hidden away? For all you know I could be
sleeping with half the lesbian population in WeHo.”

        ”Are you?”

”Nah. Ever since I stopped going to the gym, my
endurance’s been shot. I couldn’t manage that even if I wanted to.”

Tina snorted. “Again, that begs the question, don’t you want to?”

Bette wondered at Tina’s line of questioning. True,
they’ve talked about each others’ love lives before but Tina has never
questioned her so persistently before. After a second of wondering, she
shook her head. Stop your wishful thinking, she admonished herself.

”So, don’t you feel horny sometimes?”

Bette choked on a piece of bread. She gagged and coughed, spewing crumbs all over the both of them.

”What? It’s a perfectly innocent question.” Tina exclaimed, brushing crumbs off her face.

”Sorry… just surprised me, that’s all.” Bette sat up and reached for her glass of juice.

Tina sat up too and leaned her head on Bette’s
shoulder. Bette stopped breathing for a split second then forced
herself to inhale and exhale, hoping that Tina didn’t notice.

    1. Oh God, I feel for Bette. When Tina said she wanted Eric, my heart sunk. I just hope Tina doesn’t make a move just cause she’s lonely at the moment. That would destroy their friendship. I’m loving this story, please post SOON.

    2. Poor Bette, I feel really sorry for her! And I know how it is to be in love with your best friend and you can’t tell them except when it’s to late! Please post soon!

    3. Poor Bette…boy do I feel for her. This was one hell of a chapter….Tina just needs to realize that she has feelings for Bette. Please post soon – this is so great.

    4. If Bette wasn’t there for Tina ever beck and call,Tina might realize how much Bette really ment to her. Bette should try it for a couple of weeks and see what would happen. I is hell to love someone who just sees you as a friend and best buddy. Poor Bette. She loves Tina enough to be her friend and near her is better than not having her at all./ thanks

    5. This story is bringing up so many memories. I seem to be attracted to straight woman all the time. A couple went as far as being lovers. The one that really hurt though was on an emotional level. I think that she was my soul mate in that we shared everything (except physically). I still miss her and would go running back if given the chance.

    6. The problem with straight girls is that they love the attention you give them and don’t think all that much that it might be for a reason and that them doing whatever they are doing can effect you.. Damn I’m loving this story.. It totally hits home..

    7. Damn this is breaking my heart (doesn’t help that the chapter description usually comes from “You Don’t Know Me” lol). Luckily the situation I was in wasn’t this deep or it would’ve hurt alot more.

    8. oh my god, I’m so happy my friend didn’t do that when I was in love, cause that would have hurt me!! But in this story it looks like Tina is into Bette, but doesn’t know it yet.. Realize it T!! ;-)

    9. Hey 7 the only thing that came to my mind reading this chapter is that Bette should start running now or go for it. Thanks And Fa6 is so right about that push and pull relationship that can develop with a straight chick. Isn’t this like the 4th rule in the lesbian do’s and don’t guide book. Yet it seems every lesbian woman has been here at least once before. lol

    10. damn this was sad and intense, breaking my heart, poor bette, why didn’t she just tell her, maybe even a little hint…damn, i can’t never get enough of this, post soon
