    Angel Fire – 8

    Angel Fire
    Angie opens an old wound
    chapter 8

    Their home after dinner

Angelica had been telling them about a movie she and Stacy had seen recently and how much they enjoyed things together.

Even though Tina and Bette were trying to help Angelica with her first sexual experiences, Tina was still somewhat apprehensive that Angie being involved in a gay relationship.

“Angelica,” said Tina before Angie could continue, “are you completely certain that you’re making the right choice? Being accepted as gay is not easy. Hurt comes with it.”

“I thought you said that being gay wasn’t a choice,” Angie said. “That it was who you and mom are.”

“I didn’t phrase that well,” responded Tina. “I didn’t choose to fall in love with your mama. I just did. I want you to be sure that you know what you want. That’s all.”

“Are you sorry that you’re with Mama?”

The room became completely quiet. Tina was astonished at her child’s question and turned toward Bette who was looking at her curiously.

“Angelica,” said Tina, “your mama is the love of my life. I could quote poetry about how much in love with her I am.”

Angie looked at her blonde mom and swallowed.

“I know you love each other. I don’t know why I said that.”

They talked for a while longer and didn’t again touch on the topic of gayness. At the end of this conversation with their daughter, Bette had excused herself.

“Think I’ll read for a while,” she announced to all and disappeared into the bedroom.

This was unusual because she generally read in the living room or out by the pool. That way Angie could approach her to talk if she wanted. Tina knew that Bette in the bedroom reading was a Bette who wanted to be left alone.

“I didn’t mean to hurt you and Mama,” Angie said as she watched her tall mom leave the room. “Should I go talk to her?”

“No, baby. She doesn’t want to talk now. I’ll talk to her later when she’s ready. Sometimes your mama just has to be left alone.”

“Mom, it just upsets me that you don’t seem to support me and Stacy as much as I want. I mean, you help me with information about making love and then you turn around and ask me if I’m sure.”

    1. Is Tina finally OK with Angie being OK with it? Alice is right, Bette should just bide her time. But Angie’s only 18. How long is she going to bide her time?

    2. Very nice – having a child come into their own life separate from you is not easy and you are portraying all aspects of that really well. Not to mention giving us some hot Bette and Tina loving so you are a totally wonder woman. Thanks.

    3. Damn. I thought the wound was Bette taking forever to figure out that she was in love with Tina. I really did not imagine cheating happening here, or the men thing.

    4. Ya know, something in B’s tone told me she was going to yet AGAIN say something about “cheating.” I swear, that woman can be her own doomsday!! Thanks for allowing Al to B the voice of reason; it was much needed.

    5. So Angie does not know about the man thing yet. I hope that all three of them will sit down when they approach this subject. This will show Angie that her moms really do love each other through thick or thin. Got to love Alice in how she approached Angie’s desire to not pursue art at this time. Thank you for the post. It brings a smile to may face to see that Bette and Tina are still together after all that they have been through.

    6. I know how Tina feels, I would feel the same way if faced with the situation. Those times in the past will always be touchy for Bette and Tina and if they will just talk to each other about it, those times will remain buried. They still love each other tremendously and love does conquer all, eventually.

    7. VERY, VERY godd and NICE chapter. I disagree with many that Bette was carring a cloud over her head or continuing to torment herself about the cheating or man thing with Tina. It’s just you think that you have dealt with an issue (but not having truely talked it out or completely dealt with or lived through it) and it lies dormant right beneath the surface until something happens that awakens the old wounds maybe years later. And it doesn’t be something that it said directly to you, it could be witnessing an event. I think that you delt with that VERY well here, and that was some GREAT advice that Alice gave Bette. People often avoid or seek an excape from something when they feel that it is shoved down their throat, even if it is something that they truely love. I see it all the time with parents and their young kids that are involved in sports. Th children either get burned out because of over exposure or come to resent both their parent and their talent. Given her space, Angie will gravitate back to her true passion :o)

    8. … I love this story … I just get the feeling T&B are two VERY nice looking older women. I hope T just accepts Angie for what she is; a younger version of her mothers. Totally didn’t see the show history popping up here. Nice touch!

    9. Sometime the past can come back a bite you in the butt. Its been 18 yrs since Bette cheated on Tina and 17 yrs since Tina her boytoy for a while. Bette wears a dark cloud over her head for that..Angie is a smart young lady, she is that because of her two Mothers, As for art if its meant to be it will be. IDONT LIKE M.CUBAN EITHER. Brasses . Money talks with him buy Bulls&&t walks also. I love the Mavs Brad Davis was my heart . as was Blackman. they had class. Let just hope that they can beat the Heat. thanks for a wonderful story,Post soon thanks

    10. Pancha, Wonderful words of wisdom and magical writing make this a truly beautiful tale. Tina and Bette’s shower sex was fulll of tenderness and care as their love shone through. I loved Alice’s honest appraisal of Angie’s motives for moving away from art. Angie needs to stretch her wings and see where they can take her; in her education and her love life. Tina and Bette need to continue to be open and honest with their daughter as this will demonstrate their trust in Angie’s choices. Thank you so much for this afternoon delight. Your Loyal Fan.
