    Bette and Tina after brunch surprises and a look into their past.

    CHAPTER 10 (final)

                “That was relatively painless.” Bette declares as she opens Tina’s door. She rounds the car and slides into her seat.

                “Yeah it was lovely actually.” Tina responds smiling at Bette.

                “So what now?” Bette asks.

                “Hmmm… I’m not sure.”

                “Well… would you like me to take you home?”

                “No.” Tina’s answer is emphatic. She smiles at Bette. “Um… I.”

                “Say no more. Can I take you somewhere? No questions.” Tina raises an eyebrow in response. “It’ll be great I promise. I just need to run to the house and grab a few things before we head out.”

                “Okay.”

    With that they began their small adventure. The two women sit in comfortable silence for most of the drive to Bette’s house.

                “You wait here and I’ll be back in a few minutes.” Bette says as she parks the car in the driveway. Tina nods and waits patiently as Bette makes her way into the house. After a few minutes Bette returns sticking a bag in the trunk.

                “So I don’t get any clues?”

                “None… I mean unless you want some?”

                “Bette, which is it no or yes?”

                “Well I’ll give you one clue… It’s going to be a little bit of a drive so I hope you don’t have other plans today.”

                “No plans I’m yours for the entire day.”  Tina’s excitement is easily seen in her eyes. Bette knew Tina loved a surprise and this surprise would likely live up to her excitement.

                “Perfect. So are you ready for this Ms. Kennard?” She asks with a wink.

                “Born ready.”

    They begin their drive up the 101, which is relatively quiet for a Saturday afternoon. Glances are stolen at every moment. Bette fears that she may crash the car if she doesn’t stop staring and smiling.

                “Eyes on the road Bette. I’d like to live to see the surprise.” Tina says reading Bette’s mind.

                “Sorry.” Bette responds shyly. ‘Maybe music would help.’ She thinks to herself as she presses the buttons on the radio. She plays a mix CD she’s been listening to since her return from San Francisco.

    5. It very sad when lover forget to talk to each other. When they do forget to talk they are just plain people shring a house and not a home. I’m so glad that T&B are back to talking and sharing their love with each other.
