All These Things I Hate Revolve Around Me (Chapter 2)

    Chapter 2

After having our disappointing meting with Jean Paul Bette and I went to The Planet to get some lunch and meet up with the gang. I was trying to eat my soup but found it very difficult with Shane, Alice and Dana not to mention Bette all laughing at Jean Paul’s outlook on how to create a baby. How could they laugh about it when Bette and I are basically tearing our hair out, looking for a suitable donor. I was already tired and disappointed I didn’t need them adding “frustration” onto the list! I just sat there giving the group a look.

Bette then wiped a tear of laughter from her eye and I just stared at her a bit envious I couldn’t see it from a funny point of view. “What T? It’s funny” she said justifying herself.

I put my spoon back in my soup knowing this is going to start something. I don’t know what exactly got into me but I just felt like I had to defend myself for some strange reason because in my mind I could see how it was funny. My mouth just took over replying to Bette’s comment “Sorry I don’t find it funny!”

“What? No Tina why did you say that? Now Bette is going to shoot something back what is wrong with you?” I thought. It was like only part of my brain was connected to my mouth, the angry part!

The group started to quiet down after my comment. We all felt how awkward it was getting with no one saying anything, luckily Bette stepped in “Try, it’s important to have a sense of humour about these things!” I could see that she was trying to lighten the mood.

“Yeah, well I guess you’ve taken care of that for both of us!” Bette looked around the table seeing how our friends felt awfully awkward from our disagreement, at that point of time I was having a disagreement in my own mind! “Why would you say that? I didn’t tell you to say that! What the fuck is wrong with me? I need to talk to Dr Wilson about this!”

Bette looked at me before saying “Why are you doing this?”

    1. I guess that’s one way of “talking” things through… But shortcuts will only hurt in the long run. Tina should probably let Bette know what’s bothering her. Thanks for the update. :)
