Kit: Because your voicemail is full. He said that he had been trying to reach you but he couldn’t get you. But he also said that when you get a chance to call him

Bette: I will. I’ll call him later

Kit: Ok. Well did you call the police station yet?

Bette: No but I was going to call the station when I get off the phone with you

Kit: Good idea. I’ll see you later when I come over

Bette: Ok. Bye

Bette closes the phone and she places her hands over her face… She yarns…Tina walks over to the table and she looks at Bette…She too takes a seat at the table

Tina: Is everything ok?

Bette: Yeah that was Kit. My father is coming here on Tuesday

Tina: Oh good. Where is he going to stay?

Bette: I don’t know. Maybe at a hotel or something.

Tina: Are you excited to see him?

Bette: Yes I am. But I didn’t expect him to just pop up. There must be something wrong that he just popped up

Tina: I don’t know what it could be. But I’m sure he’ll tell you if there was a problem right?

Bette looks at Tina

Bette picks up her cellphone…She dials the number to the police station

Bette: T give me a second I have to call the police station

Tina: Ok

RING! RING!

Officer: West L.A. Community

Bette: Hi my name is Bette Porter and I would like to know who could I speak to about the assault and battery of a woman in south central about a week ago?

Officer: You should speak to detective Marciano. I’ll connect you

The line goes blank for a second…

Marciano: Detective Marciano

Bette: Hi detective my name is Bette Porter and I would like to speak to you about a case a week ago

Marciano: What’s the victim’s name ma’am?

Bette: Alice Piezecki

Marciano: Alice Piezecki. Ok well tell me something about the victim?

Bette: She called me before the ambulance had arrived at the scene. I was on the phone with her the whole time. And she told me more about the incident at the hospital. That’s why officer Martin was after me. I was the one that witnessed her being alive I guess. She and I have been friends for about 10 years I know her well like a sister.

Marciano: Ok that’s enough. Well when can come down to the station?

Bette: In about a half of an hour

Marciano: Ok when you come to the station just ask for me at the front desk?

Bette: Ok will do.

Bette closes the phone…She places it on the table

Tina: So what happened?

Bette: I have to go to the station. I have a meeting with a guy by the name of detective Marciano.

Tina: Oh. Well while you are out taking care of that I’ll be here setting up for later. We only have two hours left

Bette looks at the clock on the wall

Bette: ***** your right. I should get going

Bette exits the kitchen and goes into the bathroom…She freshens up as she heads straight to the bedroom…She gets dressed

Tina: Babe do you think I should open the red wine or the white?

Bette comes into the livingroom…She has her shoe in her hand trying to put it on her foot she tries to keep her balance with her weight on the other foot…She puts the shoe on

Bette: There

Bette turns to Tina

Bette: I think that we should use the white wine. It’s not that heavy

Tina: Ok I’ll use that.

Bette grabs her car keys and walks over to Tina…She kisses her

Bette: I’ll be back

Tina: Ok I’ll be calling

Bette turns and looks at Tina

Bette: For what?

Tina: To check on you and make sure that you’re ok

Bette smiles….She goes over to Tina and kisses her again

Bette: I love you

Tina: I love you too

Bette rubs the side of her face

Bette: I’ll be back

Tina: Hurry

Bette smiles

Bette: Ok

Bette turns and heads towards the door…She exits the house towards the station…
