Shane walked in to the planet. She scanned the room for her friends, but they werent there yet. She walked up to the encounter to get her usual morning shot, then she sat down at a table close to the window. She took a zip of the coffee and watched the room around her. The planet was crowded as always, and usually she didnt mind but today it bothered her. She couldnt think with this noise around her, and what she really needed now was to think. She wanted to analyze what had happened the night before. The thoughts whirled around in her head but they couldnt be thought here. She needed to get out of here, as soon as possible. She finished the espresso and stood up to leave when she heard a familiar voice over the crowd. Morning heartbreaker! Alice sat down by the table. Damn, I cant leave now, shell know somethings happened. Shane thought since Alice knew everything that was going on, weather it was with her friends or with total strangers. Whats with you today? Alice asked looking curiously at Shane. Shane grinned a little. Um. So, wheres Dana? she asked, trying to get Alice something else to think about. Oh, shes on the court. She had training today too Shane smiled to herself. Well, Al, thats the life of a famous tennis player yknow! Alice grumbled a little and looked down at the floor. Yea, I know. I just wish that we could spend a little more time together. I mean next week shes going away on a tour for a month, and I wont see her at all! Well, you know, we do have something in this country called a telephone. Alice glared at Shane Well, arent you the funny one today? I know that, but its not the same. Oh, Al, cmon, you knew this when you started to go out with Dana. I mean you werent exactly strangers. And she has been away for a lot longer than a month before, and see, you lived to tell about it! Shane grinned at her. Well, thats not the same A silence fell over the two friends, both occupied with their thoughts. I have to call her. Shane thought. Damn I messed up, and now I have to call her. What If she wants more? I cant give her more, Im not that kind of person. Or am I? I dont even recognize myself anymore, what have I become? Hey. Hey Shane. Alice said, When she didnt get an answer she slapped Shane on her leg. ouch, what are you doing? Shane asked confused. Where are you? Um, Im right here, cant you see me? Shane tried to joke. Okay, wheres your mind? You seem a little off Nah, Im good. Im just tired yknow. Alice looked at Shane with an expression in her eyes telling Shane that she wasnt let off the hook that easily. Hi guys! Jenny interrupted the two friends. Oh, hi jenny. Shane answered, glad that jenny came right at that point. Can I sit here, with you? Yea, sure! Shane grinned a little. well, I better go, I have an appointment. But Shane? Alice started to say. Bye guys! And with that Shane walked out of the Planet, leaving a curious Alice and a confused Jenny behind. Shane got into her car and hit the steering wheel. Damn! she thought. How am I gonna get out of this? When she was inside of the Planet she was bothered with all the noise in there, now when it was quiet all she wanted was noise. She turned on the radio. I wanted to stay there forever. Stay in her safe arms, stay with her for the rest of my life. *****, I am really falling for her. I have to talk to her. Tell her that what happened yesterday cant happen again. Shanes thoughts wondered back to the night before. She had gone to her to talk to her, just to talk. It started good, they sat down on her couch and talked, but the next thing she knew they were kissing passionately, and she couldnt have stopped it even if she wanted to. They made love there on the couch, and she was awesome. She was the best woman Shane had ever slept with, and that tells a lot about her, since Shane had slept with hundreds, if not thousands, of women. Then theyve moved into the bedroom and made love to together through the entire night, before they had fallen asleep in each others arms. Shane had never felt that secure in anybodys arms before. And she wanted to feel that again. But she couldnt, it was too complicated. She had to call her now and tell her that it was a one time thing. Shane picked up the phone and dialled the number. Hello?
