Tina had a pensive look on her face. ‘Cloud Nine? Is that a new restaurant? Club?’ Tina had no idea what that was and thought perhaps Bette was being amusing.
“Are you serious?”
“Yes.” Bette confirmed.
“Thanks for sharing.” Tina said sincerely.
“You’re welcome. By the way, the power of that Kennard pout is rather remarkable.”
Tina chuckled and arched her eyebrow. “Oh, I have my ways.”
Bette glanced at her with a wide grin. “I’m sure you do.”
Bette continued their drive and couldn’t help but steal glances at the blonde beauty. Tina would do the same occasionally and at times they briefly locked eyes, only to smile, look away and repeat the process again.
Tina looked at the water bottle and then glanced at Bette’s hand which was on the gear shift. She surprised herself with her thoughts. ‘I wonder what it would feel like to have that hand entwined in mine? Or those fingers…’
Bette noticed the blonde with a serious look on her face. “What’s on your mind, Tina?”
‘Thank God she does not have E.S.P.’ Tina thought.
“Just um…feeling very…thirsty,” Tina responded, grabbing the bottle of water.
‘Good save, Kennard. Now get your shit together!’
“You know, you are so different from the first impression I had of you.” Tina said shyly.
“Oh yes, first impressions…” Bette said with a sigh, remembering that the one she gave Tina probably was not her best.
“Yours was definitely…memorable.” Tina replied honestly.
Bette had to chuckle remembering their first encounter at the Gallery. “Unfortunately, not in a positive light?”
Tina thought for a moment. “Actually, you were actually a little intimidating.”
“Only a little?” Bette asked hopefully, crossing her fingers as she gripped the steering wheel.
Tina laughed and reached for the bottle of water. “Okay, quite intimidating, since you ask.”
“Give me a second chance on that first impression?”
“Alright…” Tina agreed, not really sure what Bette planned to do.
Bette surprised Tina by pulling over to the side of the road. Bette quickly ran her fingers through her curls, cleared her throat and gave Tina a dazzling smile, as she extended her hand. “Hi. It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m Bette Porter and you’re…obviously so damn beautiful.”

yup…gotta critic those oral skills…i bet tina would be pretty satisfied. :) i like the pacing of the story. no rush…slow but super smooth! wonderful!
