“So fucking cute,” Shane commented before finishing her coffee and walking over to the counter to get more. Marina signaled to the barista that Shane’s was on the house, and Shane started up a flirtatious conversation with the girl instantly.

“So, when did you two decide you couldn’t live without each other? I have to say, I’m quite inspired by the two of you,” Jenny said, keeping her eyes intently on the lovers.

“Last night. Dana broke into my apartment to beg for me back. If she would have been a thief, she’d probably be injured,” Lara said playfully.

“Dana! Breaking and entering to get your woman? So unlike you,” Alice scoffed playfully.

“Mmm-hmm, because those of us who break and enter have keys,” Dana said in response.

“But at least she’s a sexy burglar, yeah?” Lara commented playfully as she rested her head on Dana’s shoulder.

“I don’t even want to know what you guys do with that scenario in bed. Because I could go for all of today without thoughts of Dana being the burglar and you her innocent victim,” Alice said, rolling her eyes.

“Hmm…I never thought of that, babe,” Dana said purely for Alice’s benefit.

“Hot guy at the counter!” Alice said, rushing away from the table.

“Well, I am glad you two are happy. It’s always nice to come for breakfast in the morning and see a smile on our Dana’s face,” Tina said gently.

“I hope I can keep it there,” Lara said softly, kissing Dana on the cheek and making her smile widen.

“There is no doubt in my mind that you’ll be able to keep it there for a long time, Lara. Besides Mr. Piddles and us, you’re probably the most important person in Dana’s life. I think you two are an excellent match. But if you’ll excuse me, I have to go to the gallery and work on a new exhibit,” Bette said, throwing some money on the table to pay and kissing Tina goodbye.

“I’ll bring some lunch over for you later, we can eat in…” Tina said softly before lowering her partner’s lips to hers once again.

“Love you, T. I’ll see you ladies later,” Bette said, sticking her earpiece in and walking out the door.

“She seems nice. You two seem really happy,” Lara commented to Tina.

“We are. I mean, now that we’re pregnant and going to be starting a life together, everything just seems like it’s falling into place,” Tina responded, sipping her special pregnant lady brew of coffee and relaxing.

“Yeah, it definitely seems that way,” Dana said in Lara’s direction, entwining their fingers again. The rest of the group smiled at them, and everything seemed like it was looking up for once in her life. Until she saw the camera flash.
