    “Did you actually converse, or was it just a courtesy call?” – Shane McCutcheon

    “Yes, which brings me on to something important. There is another person on your list…”

    “Tina.” I say.

    “Yes, and she’s coming Shane. She should be here this afternoon. A doctor came to tell me last night while you were sleeping.”

    “I remember that, while I was being brought in. I remember asking someone if they could contact her, but I didn’t know how they would do that.”

    “One of the people that you work with knew that you would have important numbers in that book so gave it to the paramedics while they were getting you into the ambulance.”

    “I know that you probably won‘t know the answer to this but, is Alice coming?”

    “Yeah, she called me, early, before she went to pick up Tina to go to the airport together.”

    “Alice called you? If I knew that all I had to do was get hit by a car to get you two to spend some proper time together I would have done it a long time ago”

    “Don’t joke about it Shane.” replies Bette, in a grave tone

    “OK, but seriously Bette. Don’t you think it’s time that forgave each other? I’m not saying what Alice did was right but all this resentment that you’ve been harbouring, it’s counter productive.”

    “Maybe.”

    “No, not maybe, definitely. Did you not tell me yesterday that you thought it was about time that you moved on? Well, I think that you’ll only really do that if you start to rebuild your relationship with Alice. The two of you have known each other the longest out of all of us. Doesn’t that count for something?”

    “I guess.” says Bette, without any kind of conviction.

    “Promise me you’ll think about it, before she gets here.”

    “OK, but only because you asked me to.”

    “Thank you.” I say, wanting it to be as easy as possible for all of us when they both get here.

    “I don’t know Shane, you’re barely twelve hours out of major surgery and yet you’re still dispensing insights that get right to the heart of the matter.”

    “There isn’t a lot else I’m going to be doing for the foreseeable future.” I say, thinking that the ache in my wrist is becoming more and more painful.

    4. “Tina and Alice together, in LA, for the first time in five years. I want to believe that this will be the making of Bette, a return to the woman that I first knew, when she was happy.” Oh, please! It sounds like these two have done more damage to her than good in this story. And for god’s sake, why is Bette still having a hard time getting over Tina? It’s fucking Tina for christ’s sake…the one who pulled all that crap in S3; the one who totally humiliated and debased an erstwhile strong self-assured Bette. Man, you’re making it easy for me to not like this wuss you’ve depicted. If your Bette is still harboring issues over these two thus preventing her from findig her own happiness in life, then she deserves the crap she subjecting herself to. Please don’t make me become disgusted by this Bette because on the show, she’s my favorite character.Well, you clearly have my rapt attention. I should just quit reading altogether, but like carnage from a massive wreck, I simply cannot peel my eyes away. Hmph, oh the torture (all good, by the way).

    9. Alice and Tina in LA for the first time in 5 years after what sounds like shitloads of issues with those who stayed behind? I can smell the acrimony already.

    11. I can’t wait for Tina and Bette to come face to face. Shane seems to be worried about Bette and Alice but I think deep down she know Bette is still very much in love with Tina reguardless of what she says. I hope that Carmen does find out and does come to visit Shane. It would be nice to see all the gang back and the 2 couples to start over again.

    15. This chapter was great and I can hardly wait until everyone is face to face. And Yes, Tina, Bette still has that hold on you just as you have a hold on her heart. When they see each other it will be hard to resist embracing each other. It will be almost like old times in that they will feel that comfort and ease being held by the other person whether they want to admit it or not.

    18. I don´t have any nails to bite…This is going to be good….I can feel it, and as a Tibetter, Betta and Tina are going to realize that they belong together, please don´t put an “IC” on us, we love drama, but not too much drama. Thank you, this is a wonderfull history.

    20. CityGirl, another stupendous addition to your new story. You brilliantly created a scenario where Shane, even in her hospital bed, provided the clear head and insightful thoughts and rationale. Getting Bette and TIna in the same city, at the same time is a massive step forwards and I hope that their relationship can be re-kindled as the embers still glow with love and warmth for each other. Shane may be sure to enlist Alice in her plan to re-unite these soul mates even if Ally is the collateral damage. Please continue soon as this is a fabulous fan fiction. Thank you, Your Loyal Fan.
