Eli nodded thoughtfully before glancing at his mom again. “Is Bette going to adopt me?”

Tina turned toward her son softly brushing his hair. “I’m sure Bette would really like that and once we’re both better situated with what our plans for the future are I know Bette would love to legally be your mom.”

“Cool. I think it’s going to be a little strange to call someone else ‘mom’ but I’m sure it won’t be too hard to adjust. I’ll leave all the big decisions for you guys. You usually make really good decisions.”

Tina laughed and slightly nudged Eli. “Usually?”

Eli laughed. “Well you did try to get me to join the choir because I liked going to those sing-along groups when I was a toddler…oh and remember that time when Uncle Ollie was away on business and you had Uncle Bryce take me on the father son camping trip…”

Tina was laughing at the memory. Bryce had never been camping and had no idea what he’d be doing but would do anything for Eli. “It wasn’t that bad.”

“Uncle Bryce kept checking out all the single dad’s. But that’s not what bothered me, he didn’t want to do anything that would get him too dirty.”

Tina was laughing harder. “Well he tried to make that up to you.”

“He took me on a nature hike where we ended up getting lost and we spent the next few days in the nurse’s cabin because we walked through poison ivy.”

Tina cringed at that memory, both came back in a miserable mood. They made up once they got back in the city in more familiar surroundings but they promised to never go on a camping trip together.

“Alright, but I have a good track record on the big decisions.”

“Yeah I trust you mom and I trust Bette so I’m sure whatever you two decide will be okay.”

Tina pulled Eli in closer to her. “I’m lucky to have such a great son…oh before I forget you do know that Bette’s invited you to her gallery opening.”

    4. Finally Bette stood up to her father. I know how difficult that is for Bette, but she now knows how important it is to have Tina and Eli in her life. Loved the little teaser that you gave us at the beginning of the chapter.

    5. Great update as always. Bout time Bette stood up to her father. Please make sure Bette keeps in mind that Tina can handle things, and be careful of not trying to handle things for her. I’m soooooooooooooooo looking forward to those two actually hooking up. Too cute about Bette being worried about Eli hearing.

    6. Amazing post once again Toribio!!!! I loved the little heated ‘thing’ on the couch between B&T, so cute and realistic…………and the things Bette told Melvin was spot-on, really great writing. BUUUUT now you can’t hold that NC-17 back much longer LOL and I can’t wait. Post soon, I’m addicted.

    9. Grrreat chapter! I was kinda hoping that Tina and Eli would be arriving during Bette’s tirade to her father, thus hearing how she stood up to him for her family’s sake, but well, whatever direction you’re taking is great with me, so… I thought you did a great job with Melvin. Leaving some hopes about his decision while still having him in character. Well done! Loved the teaser, that’s very promising for the real thing ya know…;) This ending has me look forward to the reunion between B&T, so please post soon (with all due respect for your school work, it’s great enough to have you share this wonderful story!) Okay, thanks a lot, Toribio!

    10. GREAT update, I like most am glad that Bette finally stood up to Melvin and I believe that Melvin will make the right choice. I can hardly wait until Tina finds out, oh yeah it will be “T” time for Bette. I am looking to Eli meeting Melvin and standing up tall for both his mom and Bette. Poor Bette is soooooo missing her family that are trapped in San Diego while she is home alone. PPS :o)
