    A Dylena Story

    In Helena’s Driveway:

Here I am for the third time this week. The last two times I was here she wouldn’t answer the door. I know she was home. Her car was in the driveway and some lights were on in the house. Every attempt I’ve made so far to see her or talk to her she has ignored. She hasn’t answered one call or returned any of my messages and I’ve left many.

I ran away three years ago, because I was afraid of what I was feeling. It took me three long years to get over that fear. But, I had done it. If she thought I was just going to run away again she was wrong. I’m not going to let anymore time go by. I’m not going to let one more moment slip away without letting her know what she means to me. I made that mistake once and have regretted it ever since. No, not this time. I am not leaving here until she hears what I have to say. I love her. She is the love of my life and I’m not running away this time.

Opening the door to my car I realize how nervous I actually am.  As I reach her front door my hands are shaking and my heart is pounding so hard it feels like it’s going to explode through my chest. I know she’s home and she has company. Her car is here and there’s another car parked next to it. There was someone on her balcony when I pulled in. I only saw the persons back as she headed into the house, but it looked like Alice. I’m sure it’s Alice.

I don’t care who else is here. I’m not leaving this time until she opens the door and at least listens to me. I ring the door bell and wait………………………….. Nothing. I ring the door bell again and wait…………………………………Still nothing. I am going to ring this damn bell until she opens this damn door. I ring the bell again and wait…………………………………………………….Nothing. I reach up to ring the bell one more time and the door suddenly swings open so fast it startles me.  I jump back and lose my footing slightly on the step. Oh my god, she opened the door.  Looking down to steady myself I begin to speak before looking up.

Dylan: “Helena please” Shit, it’s not Helena.

Alice: “What the fuck!!!!!!! Dylan, exactly what don’t you get about ringing a door bell and the person inside not opening it for you? Any sane and reasonably intelligent person would be able to figure it out. Oh wait, I forgot who I was talking too. I guess I’ll have to explain it to you. It means she doesn’t want to fucking see you. Do you get it now!!!!!”

Dylan: “Alice, I know she’s here and I NEED to talk to her. HELENA”

Alice: “Huh, talk. Oh that‘s right, I guess I also have to explain what it means when you call someone and they don’t answer their phone. That means, she doesn’t want to fucking talk to you."

    Dylan: “Alice, PLEASE”

Alice: “I’m going to slam the door in your face now and I swear if I hear that bell ring one more time I’m calling Tasha, she’s a cop you know. Well, she’s not a cop yet, but she’s going to be one soon. A damn good one, I might add. And when I call her I’m going to tell her that Helena’s crazy ass ex is here trying to break into her house. And then she’s going to come here and hall your ass off to jail.”

    SLAM!
