    A Discourse on Desire…Chapter 4

Bette felt her dreams go away. When her eyelids opened and she felt the sunlight burn them, she knew it was time to wake up. Paxton was beside her still asleep. She
was resting her head on the side of his chest, his ribs…and she felt the slow beat of his heart. Bette lifted her head and with one arm resting on the bed she wiped the sleep from her
eyes. Paxton stirred when she slipped out of bed, snuggling back into his pillow. He didn’t have to wake till 10, went to work at 11 and stayed at work till 8 or 9. Bette had a 9 to 5
work day, 6 or 7 if she went overtime. Bette appreciated the hour or so of being alone in the house. Having her little space during the day made her feel…good. Everybody needed
that. Bette grabbed her folded clothes and went in the bathroom. Making sure the shower was hot, she slipped in and immediantly half-dosed off. Last night after her “talk” with
Paxton Bette had thought long and hard throughout the night. she loved her husband….but he could be…a little boring. Paxton was the type of dude who would rather spend a nice
evening reading a book or watching a TV special on Caves or Rare Rocks. He was a gentle soul and abhorred anything related to violence. He drank herbal tea and didn’t
eat meat, he wore plain clothes and crossed his legs when sitting down. He expressed his love to Bette quietly, through action like cooking and bringing her a blanket or tea, and
whispering his love late at night…or carrying her coat and massaging her shoulders. Bette liked that in him, but she was almost an entirely different person. Sitting there in the shower
Bette admitted to herself that she was quite different than Paxton. Bette needed change, she was dynamic and didn’t like a static routine…PAxton was a routine guy..Bette was not. she
needed each day to have a new flavor of spin to it. She liked her art gatherings with other curators…Paxton always grumbled about going but went anyway. Bette loved to walk
downtown and feel the energy, she liked to go all out and have fun. Course she had a maniacal side that made her good at her job and being organized. But the point was Bette was
not a routine kind of girl. And that included *****.

    1. I’m going to try and be politically correct here but this story is really twisted I havent quite figured out if this is good or bad but I’m leaning towards bad. There is a fine line between S&M thats healthy sex play and violence and I think some of the stuff your depicting has crossed that line.

    2. i was reading this story because i thought it could become a great one… i love the “Neighboor stuff”… but this violence is so untrue to what love is is for me. I’m french… and here, we’ve got a really good movie which talk about S&M…it’s called: La Pianiste! You should try it… because it’s a really good film very interesting. I’m not sure the way this will caring on… i’m gonna read the next chapter… and we’ll see! But, on last point, if you have faith in what you do… keep doing it!
