    A Deeper Song, post 13

                                                                  ******

Tina slipped quietly out of bed.  She hated to leave the silken smoothness of Bette’s body and the incredible rightness she felt.  This was not about her.  If they were to come together again and she wanted more than anything for that to be the case it would be when they were ready.

She showered quickly in the guest bedroom she occupied when in residence at Bette’s home.  She did not want the gang to know that they had been intimate with each other. One of the pressures they had faced was presenting the image of the perfect couple.  If and when there was something to tell they would tell it on their own terms.

She busied herself preparing supper.  There was not much to do, Juanita was an excellent chef and all Tina needed to do was cook what had already been prepared.  Shane was the first to arrive.

“Hey.” She greeted Tina with a quick hug and kiss.  “Where’s Bette?”

“Resting, it has been an interesting afternoon.”

Alice came barreling through the door next.  “Hey where’s Bette?”

                “Resting” Shane and Tina replied.

Kit and Lara arrived next.  “Smells good in here” Kit remarked. She turned to Lara.  “Thanks for recommending some excellent cooks.”

“No problem.” Lara was pleased to help.

“Where is Ms. Juanita?” Kit looked around.

Before Tina could answer Bette cut in.  “Tina fired her.”

They all turned to Bette, and then looked at Tina.

Bette was disgruntled.  She had woken alone reaching for Tina and it brought back too many unhappy memories.

‘Why don’t we all sit down and talk over dinner.” Tina suggested deflecting the conversation that she knew would ensue.

Everyone except Lara was missing the experience of having a personal chef that meal.  Over the past ten days they had freshly prepared gourmet meals every night service included.  The meal was excellent but the banter of critiquing the meal and complimenting the chef was missing.

“So what gives?”  Alice was the first to complain.  “I liked Juanita; I was going to select her over Julianne.”

    1. Been waiting for you to post all day. I’m with Alice, Juanita was way out of line, especially when Bette said no. Back to re-read the beginning of B&T&Ro.

    2. Bette’s deadpan delivery on what Juanita offered caused me to splutter over my own drink… this chapter was amusing, but I think Bette’s maybe made an important step. We’ll see how that goes. Great update, kel. Thanks

    3. I just love this story and the way you depict the characters. Superb. I love Tina’s possessiveness and alphaness. Send the girls home so B & T can be alone for some more relief. ;-) PPS.

    4. Hey Kelika! Thanks for the tiding over! I’m really surprised that Shane or Kit didn’t pick up on the double intender of Bette thanking Tina for “stepping in,” especially after Tina’s reply “It was my pleasure.” Tina should have left a sweet note on the bed for Bette to read when she woke up. I mean come on, you don’t just soothe the poor woman’s ache and then leave her hanging like that! LOL! Sweet post K – oh and it wasn’t just because it was and NC-17 – it’s because of your story and your writing. Thank you! More – please!

    5. Another great chapter; and I’m feeling so spoilt…looking out for the next…great talking to you…as I said I love the understated way in which you write..

    6. What I wouldn’t give for a personal chef! My back aches too. ha ha ah a hahahahahah. …sorry. Thanks for coming back with this digestif to soothe our after that tasty afternoon repast. ..I don’t think Bette or Tina will have to say a word – their silence will speak volumes. Thanks!

    7. Hey Special K, That was wonderful. I loved the doubt that both Bette and Tina felt then they each realize that their love-fest was exactly what they each needed. Tina showed how much she still loves and cares for Bette while Bette got to see Tina in Alpha mode and protecting her as well as servicing Bette’s phsyical ache. Love the banter between the gang as the truth about Junita was revealed. Now I want to see Bette and Tina talk through the events of the day and snuggle up together. Please continue this aawesome adventure soon. Many thanks from Your Loyal Fan.

    8. Now, don’t lie: most of you, if you were in Juanita’s shoes, would have done exactly the same thing. Okay – no means no. And that’s no joke. Thanks, Kelika! I am still thanking you for that last story. I wonder if Bette is still thinking of Tina when she walks? ha ha ha
