    Two weeks later… The maid of honor and the best woMAN is asked.

    Chapter 95

     

    Two weeks later.

    The wedding plans are coming around. All the invitations are sent out to everyone. But are made as they are invited to a Christmas party, not a wedding. They have received replies from everyone too, so it’s going good so far.

    It’s Saturday morning, Tina is up drinking coffee and reading the morning paper.

    Bette walks in.

    “Hey baby.” Bette says tiredly. She walks past Tina, touching her shoulder.

    “Morning babe. Sleep well?” Tina asks.

    “Like a baby.” Bette replies. She walks back to Tina with coffee in hand. She set the coffee down and leans down for a morning kiss. “So what are you planning on doing today? I have to go by the office for a few hours.” Bette says.

    “Well, I’m meeting Shane at the Planet in 20 minutes. I have something to ask her.” Tina says.

    “Okay.” Bette replies and takes a sip of her coffee.

    “Bette, I told Shane about our plans.” Tina says and looks at Bette for her reaction.

    “You did? Why, I thought it would be a surprise.” Bette says.

    “I need her help that day. So I told her. And today I’m asking her to be my maid of honor.” Tina says.

    “I understand. I want to tell Dana too. But I wasn’t sure if I should tell her or just wait for the big day.” Bette says and smiles.

    “Yeah, but I figured that the maid of honor and the “best woman” should know about it. Right?” Tina says.

    “I agree.” Bette replies.

    “Okay, well, I’m meeting Shane in 15 minutes. I should go. What do you say we meet up for lunch? Are you staying log at the club?” Tina asks.

    “I don’t know for how long, but at least two or three hours. I have some paperwork to finish from yesterday.” Bette says. “And I want to ask Dana.” Bette says.

    “Okay, why don’t I meet you at the club around noon?” Tina asks.

    “I would love that.” Bette replies.

    Tina gets up and put on her jacket and grabs her purse. She walks over to the door.

    “I’ll see you soon.” She says as she opens the door.

    “Hey, aren’t you forgetting something?” Bette asks with a serious face. She stands up.

      I know, I know, I missed a comment again… But since I faithfully am your reader from the very beginning, I think you know that even when it’s not possible for me to comment at time, at least I never missed to savour any of your chapters. You know it, don’t you ?

      And you’re right : after 100 first chapters from the “crush, the meeting and love” until the wedding, you have no choice now but be ready for 100 more – at least ! Well, after the wedding will come the honeymoon – of course ! – , then the children’s question, not forgetting Bette’s golfer career and Tina’s photograph’s career too, etc. ! My, my, you’ll have a pretty big work to do indeed ! (*wink and smile*)

      Last chapter, it was so great to see our lovely fiancées quietly re-installed in their happy life together again. Far of drama for a while, ready for the wedding… I’m truly delighted !
      You know, I love the way Tina so wisely choiced Shane to keep the secret : one couldn’t have making better choice but Shane-the-ideal-confidant’s one.
      So of course, thanks to this current chapter, I’m more than delighted to know she’ll be Tina’s best woman ! Shane is such a wonderful, interesting character.

      God, I simply cannot wait your coming wedding’s chapter, Lauren ! Thank you so much, more than ever, for giving us such a daily bit of sweetness and dream…
