“Oh, I forgot to call the agent today.” Bette remembers suddenly.
“No rush, you’ll do it tomorrow.” Tina says and smiles.
Jessie walks back into the living room, just as her cell phone rings.
“Hello?” She says.
“Jessie, hi, it’s me.” Stephanie says.
“Oh hi, how’d it go with the agent?” Jessie asks.
“It went fine, he gave me and estimate and he’s going to call me tomorrow with the real number.” Stephanie says.
“Well, what’s the estimate?” Jessie asks curiously.
“800.000 dollars.” Stephanie says with a little laugh.
“You’re joking right?” Jessie asks surprised.
“No, not joking.” Stephanie replies.
“Wow.” Jessie replies.
“Yeah, listen, could you come home with the kids? And would you mind staying here tonight? I can drive you back in the morning?” Stephanie says.
“Okay, I’ll come over right away. I’ll see you in 30 minutes or so.” Jessie replies.
“Thanks. Drive carefully.” Stephanie adds and then hangs up.
Jessie looks over at Tina and Bette.
“Looks like I’m going for a drive.” Jessie says and stands up. “Stephanie wants the kids home. And she asked me to join her. I said yes. So I won’t be coming back tonight.” Jessie says.
“Okay.” Tina replies and smiles.
“Come on William, let’s get you dressed.” Bette says and takes him out into the hallway and puts on his jacket and shoes. Jessie dresses Matthew. Jessie hands Matthew over to Bette for a second while she gets dressed herself, and then before leaving she walks into the living room and to Tina. She leans down and gives Tina a hug.
“Thank you.” She whispers in Tina’s ear.
Tina gives Jessie an extra squeeze and a smile as she pulls away a little.
“You’re welcome.” Tina whispers back and smiles.
Jessie leaves. Bette walks back over to Tina and continue to rub her feet.
The next morning:
Tina waking up first, she turns her head towards Bette. She’s still asleep, lying on her left side with her right hand across Tina’s stomach. Tina softly starts to rub Bette’s arm and after a few moments Bette starts to stir.
“Mmm.” Bette lets out.
“Good morning baby.” Tina says with a big smile. “Could you open your eyes?” Tina says excitedly.
“Mmm.” Bette replies, still not opening her eyes.
“Babe, please, I have to show you something.” Tina says.
Then slowly Bette opens her eyes and looks into Tina’s eyes.
“I need you to look at my leg.” Tina says with a huge smile on her face.
Bette slowly raises herself up to a sitting position. Then slowly the covers rise up about
“Oh baby.” Bette says and leans over and gives Tina a kiss on her chin. “I love you.” She adds.
2 hours later at the hospital:
Tina went in to Darren with a huge grin on her face. Bette also smiles as she enters.
“So what do I owe this happy mood?” Darren asks.
“Well, I’m able to move my feet.” Tina says with a smile.
“You can? Wow, that’s great. Let’s see.” Darren says. Bette helps Tina onto the bench as usual. Tina concentrates and she moves her left foot.
“Tina, this is great. I think we have to head down to the training room and start to do some real training on those legs of yours.” Darren says with a smile. They make their way over to the exercise room. There Darren had Tina on some strength equipments like a core-ball (exercise ball) and some rubber strings. And then just some movement exercises, like moving her legs up and down. After an hour they finished up.
“Well, I will see you guys on Monday again. Enjoy your weekend.” Darren says.
“Thanks, you too.” Bette and Tina says in unison.
They head home.

hey I love reading your story, but I’m wondering Y haven’t Bette ever attempted to make love to Tina, after that first time, even though T may not be able to feel anything below her waist, it would have been nice to still have Bette make love to her. It’s beginning to feel like they’re roommates, like they’ve lost their passion for each other, instead of committed lovers. Any who I look 4ward 2 ur next post!!!

im happy Tina is getting better everyday cant wait to see her walking again..and yes im with the others in part cuz B&T seems to have a lot of love but not much passion BUT maybe Bette does not want to make Tina feel unconfortable and do something that could shows like a pressure to be intimate they have a lot of time the only thing that matter right now is Tina walk again…great chappy and thanks :o)
I’m with Pandora here : their first attempt of lovemaking since Tina’s accident was particularly hard on the emotional point. So no doubt they tacitly choiced to wait during Tina’s fight against paralysis, to avoid any added sorrow, fear and frustration.
For me, I never doubted they would enjoy a tender physical reconnection as soon as Tina recovers enough ! And, well, it seems that happy times will come again now…

Lauren…this was sweet. Tina is now able to move her foot. I love that Bette is so excited for Tina. I love that William is so taken with Bette…that’s so sweet. I have to agree with Van…how come Bette & Tina haven’t attempted to make love since the first time Tina was injured? I would have thought with Tina gaining feeling and some movement, they would have tried to make love. Anyway..I’m glad Stephanie wasn’t injured and that things are going well. I’m surprised that Jessie would go to the house to stay, when she said she wouldn’t ever go back there. Stephanie hasn’t told her about HIS arrest, so why would Jessie come back home? Just some questions…Lauren, thanks for the chapter. Enjoy class…hope you’re not getting too much homework. ;-)

Great chapter, but I was very uncomfortable with Jessie and the children going over to spend the night at the house. With things still not settled with her husband, I think that it was a bad move on Stephnie’s part. People have been killed even with a restraining order intact.
sweet chapter. its good to see Tina betting feeling backinher legs. everyone is on a good high. i bet the ball will drop soon becasue of all this happiness
