    Who is Peter, how will Tina react to him, but most importantly, how will Bette react?

    Chapter 153

     

    Bette turns around.

    “Pete?” She says surprised and a little shocked.

    “Elizabeth?” He replies just as surprised.

    “What are you doing here?” Bette asks.

    “I’m the social worker.” He replies.

    Tina watches the interaction between them.

    “It’s been a long time.” Bette says, her voice getting low and cold.

    “Yes it has.” He replies.

    “Eh, where do you know each other from?” She asks.

    “Oh sorry Tina, this is as you know Peter Thomas, he and I were together in college.” Bette says as she still has her eyes on him.

    “Oh.” Tina says, she’s getting a little awkward, she suddenly feels like the third wheel.

    Peter looks at Bette, same is Tina, and she sees that Bette get this sad look on her face.

    “Maybe I should go, I’ll get you another social worker.” Peter says as he turns to leave.

    “No, stay.” Bette says, lifting up Noah. “Let’s go into the living room.” She says and walks past Peter and Tina. Peter follows closely. Tina’s left there, wondering what is going on. She stays behind to change Daniel’s diaper.

    Out in the living room Bette is seated in the couch, she has placed Noah down in his bouncer. Peter has taken a seat in the chair opposite the couch.

    “I swear I didn’t know it was you. I saw the name Elizabeth Porter on the application, but I didn’t in my wildest dreams think it was you.” He says and looks at her.

    “Well now, that you know?” She asks him.

    “I just want to leave.” He admits.

    “Yeah, because you’re so good at that.” Bette says, getting a little angry.

    Tina is coming down the hallway when she hears that last comment from Bette. She stops before they see her. Praying that Daniel keeps quiet.

    “Elizabeth, I Don’t know what to say.” Peter says and looks down in his lap.

    “Well I guess there’s not much to say. But” Bette says.

    Tina is curious, ‘an answer? What is it between those two?’ She thinks to herself.

    “I’m not sure I can give you one.” He replies.

    “Not give me one? Why?” Bette asks. “What happened that night? I deserve an answer, don’t you think?” Bette says in a commanding voice.

    3. Well, I certainly didn’t see that one coming. I hope Tina can get past this and realize that Bette loves only her. But I’m like Bette in that I’d want answers too because I have this thing with needing closure.

    4. Wow that was a shock but Tina has to realize Bette was straight when she met her. She has to know how much Bette loves her. They need to get past it.. Post soon I love this story.

    7. Wow…that was a surprise. They need to talk and be open and honest…it would be really bad if they stop talking now. Bette’s greatest fear is losing Tina and the boys and Tina’s fear is losing Bette. They need to talk this out. Thanks for the update.

    9. Surprise isn’t the word. Bette in love with a man. Boy is Tina going to be unhappy. You can try to tell the person you love everything in your life,something always falls through the crack. This was a big one. thanks
