«We’re having dinner with your father?». Bette looked up from her coffee cup and straight into Tina’s eyes.
Tina smiled nervously. «My mother arranged the whole thing. You don’t have to do it if you don’t want to…», Tina offered.
Bette shook her head. «Of course I’ll do it baby, I know how much this means to you. Besides, I’ve seen worst believe me», Bette told Tina, a huge grin on her face.
«Oh ? When was that?»
«Well… I don’t think you want to hear about that. It involves a former girlfriend…»
«Baby, I’m a grown-up, I know you had girlfriends before me. Come on, I don’t mind…», Tina encouraged her.
Bette put her coffee on the table and folded her arms. «All right… I was nineteen and I had just met Michelle. One night when her mother was at a meeting, she invited me over to her house. Her father was in the Army and he was away on training or something… She answered the door totally naked, so you can imagine what…», Bette cleared her throat, not at ease talking about a former girlfriend with Tina. «Anyway, we were on the couch when her father walked in. We never heard him coming. When he understood what was happening, he grabbed my clothes and threw them on the front lawn. And then, I swear to God this is true, he pulled a gun on me and told me to never speak to his daughter again»
Tina was wide-eyed listening to Bette. «You had to get out of the house naked ?»
«Yeah, can you imagine that… Luckily for me, there wasn’t that much light outside. I gathered my things and went home. The next day, Michelle never even looked at me and a week later, I learned that she had been transferred to another college»
«You could have told the police!»
«I was scared, and I didn’t want to embarrass my family. So if I don’t take off my clothes at the restaurant and if your father doesn’t owned a gun, I guess nothing bad will happen to me, right?», Bette chuckled.
At that moment, Tina’s cell phone rang. «Hi dad… Yeah, mom told me this morning. At your place ?…. Yeah, I guess we can do that… Chinese ? OK, we’ll see you later… Bye dad»

Hi Milady, Another great chapter added to this awesome adventure. Good to see that Tina’s father took the time to get to know Bette. This helped him realize that Bette loves his daugther with all her heart. OK this is now what he wanted for his child but he can see how happy and loved she is. it will take some time but I am sure he will come to see Bette as part of his family. Brilliant.
